This fridge came brand new with our home purchase. We’ve been using it for two months and are very disappointed. The water spout leaks, and we now have calcified residue on the fridge tray. The main doors are flimsy and not level despite attempts to correct. The shelves do not hold weight well and are bowing. This is unacceptable for a new fridge. We are currently looking for a replacement. Also, we did not have the option to select this fridge, it was already installed by the builder when we found and purchased the home. Yes, we have owned a higher quality GE fridge before, so we’ve had better GE products. This fridge however, is poorly designed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice looking fridge

We replaced our side by side fridge.Oh boy what a difference. I can't believe people still buy side by sides. Certainly, if you don't have the room for a pullout bottom freezer I understand. We can get so much more in our new fridge and find it! I remember reading that you don't go into the freezer nearly as often as the fridge. Just open the door and its right there with out bending over to find it. I have to agree with some reviews about the cheesy bottom crisper full length drawer. It is plastic and tends to hang up a bit when closing. I'm sure using force would only break it. It is fussy. Our purchase was not the most expensive GE fridge, I would expect the higher end products would not have this issue. Some reviews complained about being loud, we have not found this true. It is however, difficult to see the control button functions for water, ice, light, etc. Letters (words), seem to be washed out in the back round color.
Overall we are pleased with this purchase. No problems thus far, freezer stays frozen, fridge stays cold.
