Perfect finish

This fridge adds such an amazing touch to a kitchen. The finish on it is amazing, does not leave fingerprints and works great for a modern or rustic style home.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not worth it

I just received this fridge as a replacement for a 7 year old GE similar that had major unfixable problems.
The fridge has practically no extra features. No dairy tray, no egg basket, no freezer door shelf. The shelves are barely adjustable. Gallon of milk MUST be in the door and not on a shelf, neither can a carton of OJ or anything. Furthermore, the ice maker has no drip tray so any water or ice spills just drip down your door. :(
I am very Satisfied with Customer Service with GE. They were excellent and very helpful with my problems with the older fridge. I am just not happy with the replacement product. I could not afford at this time to upgrade since we were not expecting to have to purchase a new fridge in less than 10 years. If I could have purchased a different model I would have.
PLEASE go see this fridge before buying. I do not recommend it

Great look, some shortfalls

Great look in our new home kitchen. Advanced ice maker works better than any! Great LED lighting. Huge space for storage in doors. But 6 areas for improvement:
1) poor quality control and design on drawers, one drawer does not close fully or easily due to misaligned plastic, plus cheap feel and rough running of plastic drawers. Other brands have drawers that run much smoother and some even have soft close!
2) Fridge door mechanism works but is noisy and has mechanical parts and springs showing. Loud bang when you open the door makes it hard to sneak a mid note snack. Other brands are much smoother, quieter, more elegant smooth clean design.
3) Freezer drawer does not seal fully causing big chunks of ice to form and drop off on floor when drawer is opened.
4) no backlight on push button controls
5) runs a lot and noisy. I wish it were as quiet as our new GE dishwasher that you cannot hear standing next to it!
6) seems like the shelves are less deep for the size of this fridge, maybe because of all the space on the doors?

Love the double upper doors and lower freezer

We love our new fridge! The doors on top and freezer on bottom is working out even better than I originally thought. The color is great. My only complaint would be it's a little noisier than I thought it should be. But it is an awesome set up and fits so much food!!

Overall good product, somewhat lacking in design

This fridge has a lot of space. I really like the interior lighting. We use a lot of ice so I purchased the optional lower unit ice maker, great value.
CONS
As the case with most stainless appliances fingerprints are an issue, but are easily dealt with.
When dispensing ice it is difficult to catch all of the cubes and crushed ice. Often times they eject at crazy angles, and despite having the glass as high as possible in the dispenser some ice manages to escape.
Exterior panel lighting. The button labels are a dark lettering on the stainless background. These are hard to see in normal lighting conditions. At night with most of the kitchen lighting off, these labels are impossible to see. Unfortunately the panel is not backlit and finding the correct selection is difficult. The only time a selection is visible is after you make your selection. The buttons are not really buttons but touch sensitive areas on the panel, so there is no feedback sensation when you move your finger across the panel searching for the "button" location. The light button only lights up the dispenser area where you place your glass, none of this light spills over to illuminate the panel to assist in reading the button names and locations. A backlit scheme similar to a Mac backlit keyboard would be great.
Also a disappointment is the sound. At times different motors will turn on and the whining, whirring and compressing noises are easily heard and annoying.

Beautiful Refrigerator

After reviewing refrigerators for a few months we decided on this model. This is a beautiful, quiet, well-lit refrigerator. We love the slate color! Nice upgrade to our kitchen.

New Refrige/freezer

We bought it after our GE that was new in 2008 died. Not sure if it was a smart buy. Seems to be smaller than the previous one that was the exact same cubic feet volume. Panel on front that selects ice, or water, etc. is very hard to read, needs to be lit up or easier to read. Time will tell!!!
