1 1/2 years old & were on the search for a new one

After a year and a half and daily use, unfortunately it started leaking- we had a tech come and see if it was fixable and from using the warm cycle, it had warped the inside drum and was causing the door to not seal any longer. We were told replacing the inner drum would be more expensive than just buying a new one. Make sure to go with stainless steel when purchasing!

Short life span
on October 15, 2023
Posted by: KLKamp
Worked great when it was running, but had a very short life span. This from our property management:
I’m reaching out to you to let you know that unfortunately the dishwasher at 260 Lemming stopped working so we sent Marin Appliance Repair to diagnose the issue. they said there was something wrong with the timer and it kept getting stuck and it got stuck on drain setting and melted an important part that assists in draining the water. They said the dishwasher is likely going to need a whole new motor and timer. Tenant stated that they did smell smoking when they first called about a repair. Ultimately their diagnostic was “Solenoid has melted and no longer operational. Issues were caused by shorted timer. Normal wear and tear.

Cheap and. poorly designed with no manual, and a USELESS pamphlet for minimal help. No mention of where the filter is in the pamphlet or anywhere online.

Doesn't do the job
on February 20, 2024

Dishes need to be rinsed and stacked perfectly to be cleaned. It's pretty loud. Sometimes leaves the dishes smelling bad. Our stopped working recently after 7 years. Water won't drain and it's not cycling correctly.

Horrible

We have had nothing but problems with this dishwasher in a brand new home. And my fault for paying more to try to get it repaired than it would be to buy a new one. Which is where we are now buying a new one!
Response from geappliances.comBy Adrian, GE_Appliances, April 2, 2024

Stopped working after only 3 years

I've had nothing but trouble with this dishwasher. It's noisy, doesn't clean dishes properly, and constantly leaves soap residue. The design is outdated, and the controls are clunky to use. It stopped working completely after only 3 years of once a week use. Save yourself the headache and invest in a different model.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great for awhile, but…

Bought brand new in 2017 and worked great until a year ago. The timer became very temperamental but operational. Last month (May 2024), the bottom was full of water and won’t drain. I drained it and checked the filter which was not the issue. Ended up being a pump issue. We are going to replace, but not with a GE.

We are apologetic to hear of your experience with this dishwasher. While we understand the importance of an appliance lasting for a while, it is not possible to determine the product or part failure rate, lifespan, life expectancy, or life cycle of an appliance/part. There are many variables involved, such frequency of use, type of use, location of appliance, care, and maintenance.
