Basic, not built well, poorly designed, flaky

I've used this model for 6 years now in two different apartments, I haven't paid for any of them directly. Just got a third one installed by the landlord.
The first one worked well for 3 years, never had problems, aside from the suboptimal layout and the fact that things have to be pre-rinsed. But honestly, things were fine, dishes were clean and we ran it every night. Just have to be careful when loading and such. That one was the black model.
Moved to another apartment, and saw that it had the same model but in stainless steel. But it seemed off, right from the start. Sometimes I would hear the motor running, but it didn't sound right, like it had no water or like the jets weren't doing their work. But the dishes did come out looking alright (remember that I always pre-rinse). In about 2 years, the motor failed entirely. I suspected that maybe it wasn't filling with enough water and that caused the motor to self destruct or something. The spec on GE's website confirmed my suspicion, the water level was too low, especially on the rinse cycle. The apartment technicians tried to fix it, they changed the water intake valve, changed the motor, and changed the timer. But it didn't get that much better.
That replacement motor failed in less than a year. The white plastic interior also yellowed significantly. I noticed when I got the new one installed. This is the third one and it seems it's filling with the right amount of water now and it sounds normal.
If I were choosing a new dishwasher, I definitely wouldn't choose this one. It's loud, especially when stepping between cycle sections, it requires pre-rinsing, and it's not very well built. Its design, especially the technical design for measuring the right water level, is very poor. The only good thing about it is its simple construction and maintenance, I guess this is why they've been chosen as the fleet model for these apartment communities.
I definitely don't recommend this unless you have a fleet of these and your own maintenance team.

Bad interior layout and doesn’t clean!

We didn’t get to choose this dishwasher as we purchased new construction and the builder already chose it but it’s terrible. I can never fit all my dishes in due to the design but what is worse is that it doesn’t clean. I have rerun loads and tried other detergents and no luck. I scheduled a service appointment to see if maybe they can figure it out. We had GE profile appliances in our previous home and had no issues. This is clearly the cheap model.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I am unimpressed with this dishwasher.
It feels cheap, and it’s so loud when running, I will never run it when I have company. You can barely talk over it!

Great Features, greater price

This is the dishwasher model we desperately needed to replace the Samsung electronic dishwasher which broke down only after 3 years of use. This GE model will work much longer than those electronic models and serve the same purpose as those advanced models.
I would recommend this to a friend!
