Love that it is out of the way until I need it.

The concept of this vent it really cool. It pops up and have great variable speed. One thing to be aware of is that if your pot it taller than the vent itself, the steam goes straight up before being sucked back down into the fan. But over all it works well and is quite a discussion item when I have guests!

Clean design but funky switch

Bought this to replace GE SS vent purchased 2002 that broke. As a direct GE replacement was a challenge to install as they redesigned shape and location of exhaust. However once installed vent has worked well. Biggest complaint is the poorly designed switch which is difficult to turn off/on fan.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Eye-opener

My friends are all awed when show this off in conjunction with the induction cook-top. COOL! Where did you find this? Yet, in use, it's noisy and the controls are barely usable. (read bargain basement) The detached touch pad requires a strong touch to activate it - the speed adjustments are not intuitive. It was disappointing when contrasted to the excellent controls on the stovetop. Could I suggest putting a glass capacitive panel (black glass) on the top of the vent assembly?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is a powerful fan. Not too noisy, and slides out of sight when not in use. Does a good job.

Our first downdraft

This was my first time owning a downdraft. I was driven to a downdraft due to the design of kitchen. I was concerned how well it would work. One month in and I have been very pleased by its performance raising/lowering and drawing aways cooking fumes/steam. The controls are intuitive. The noise level is great even at the highest setting. All this and it looks very good.

Quiet!

This replaced a 25 yo Thermadore downdraft. It is much quieter and has a smaller profile. The filters are easy to change: no replacements are required because they are washable. Very sustainable and cost effective. There are four speeds to adjust exactly to my cooking needs. I'm told it will only have a 7 year life. Wish it had the same longevity as my previous downdraft. But otherwise I'm very happy with this purchase.

Great if it would work without malfunctioning! Worked for 3 months the would go up so far and stop then wouldn’t go down ! Wouldn’t go up smoothly or evenly ,chatting up n down , fan wouldn’t turn on when pushed! Trying to get an appointment is like pulling teeth! GE IS FAILING IN REPAIR SERVICE! Use to be top notch what happened?

Exactly what I expected.

Vent works great and took the place of an in-stove downdraft. Now my cooktop has all burners and not the grate in the middle fofr the downdraaft.
