we bought this stove 3 weeks ago. installation went well. use it first time tonight and everything went well. our old stove was a ge and we had it for 38 years and never had a problem. looking forward to 38 years more.
The cheapness of this unit became apparent at the very beginning of installation. When snugging the ground wire to the metal framework, the screw stripped the metal framework with less than 10psi torque. I replaced the self tapping screw with a large diameter and it to stripped with little torque. The power cord access height at the back of the stove was so narrow that it did not allow enough open space to clear a standard height receptacle, thus requiring the stove to be placed 2 inches away from the back wall of the kitchen. The drawer at the bottom of the stove is made of such cheap and flimsy metal that with the empty drawer fully open, one side of the drawer front sags clear to the floor. The stove top does not fit snugly where the top "hinges" to open for cleaning, There is an open gap under the control panel housing adjacent to the stove top that will allow grease and steam to accumulate under the housing, making for extra cleanup. Where the coils plug in under the stove top, the recepticles are very light duty, not like the heavy duty units in the 20 year-old stove it replaced. A poorly engineered stove made from cheap flimsy metal, definitely not worth even 1/2 the asking price.
I have had this oven/stove for a month and it is fast and efficient. It is easy to clean the cooktop. The clock and timer is very helpful and it is simple to turn on the timer. The oven temp. quickly heats and the food cooks evenly. The self cleaning feature is a boon for this product. This product has everything you need and it is simple to use.
I had to blessing to choose my stove and refrigerator to go into my husbands childhood home that we moved into. This was the first time I ever had brand new appliances.
