Great Smart HDTV

I bought this TV to replace a slowly dying 52" DLP TV. I looked at all the TV's and felt that the Sony had the best picture quality for it's size and price. The TV was amazingly easy to install and set-up and when I finished setting it up I was thoroughly amazed at how fantastic the TV picture looked. Crystal clear, bright, natural looking colors. I felt like I could reach into the screen and touch whatever I was looking at. Connecting to the Internet was also a breeze and navigating thru the menus was a snap also. I was very impressed and quite pleased with my purchase. I only have two disappointments with this Sony TV, but I was somewhat prepared for one of them after reading reviews of this model before I purchased. The sound quality was less than what I would expect from Sony. The sound has a very hollow feel to it, as if standing in an empty room. The speakers for the TV point downward rather than facing the viewer. When the TV is sitting on a cabinet, the sound reverberates off the cabinet top and sounds very weak and unappealing. I then mounted the TV on the wall and it vastly improved the quality of the sound but still a long way from what I would expect from a Sony. I finally attached the Sony to my surround sound system....problem solved!!!! The other disappointment was the Skype feature. The TV does not come with a webcam which I was aware of, but what I didn't know or realize was that the Sony TV "only" works with a "Sony" webcam. Sony only offers two webcams for their Bravia TV's and neither is very pleasing to look at. They both look like they were designed back in 1990.They are both large, obtrusive and neither has any glowing reviews. The better one of the two is very expensive for a webcam by todays standards, so it looks like I won't be able to use the Skyping feature on this TV. Other than these two disappointments, I couldn't be happier with this TV and would highly recommend it. I'm amazed every time I turn it on, I should have bought this TV sooner!!!

Best Choice for bright rooms
on November 14, 2014

I researched several brands including LG, Samsung, Sharp, Sony and Vizio. For picture brightness, contrast ratio and true color representation this Sony was among the very best. However, the most important factor beyond that was screen reflectivity. Since this TV was to be in a room with lots of windows, Sony was the single best choice - offering the least reflective screen. Actually viewing in the store helped confirm this, and I could not be happier with the real results in my own home. The "smart" setup was simple and makes internet video streaming a breeze. The access to video and sound optimization for sports, cinema and other settings is easy to change and works very well (one button push for "football" settings, and other settings require only another selection from a drop down list). Sony's attention to operational performance and ease of use still makes them the best.

Outstanding TV

So far this is an outstanding TV. This TV replaces a 6 year old 46" Bravia. We have it mounted on the livingroom wall next to and across from 5 big floor to ceiling windows. This TV is still easy to watch. The antiglare screen keeps reflections to a minimum and are only noticeable when the TV is off. Of course the picture is better in a darkened room but it has the power to be watched without closing the drapes.
This TV has the best range of color and the black is a very deep and true black. No hint of a grey cast. This makes everything very realistic.
First setup is easy, the TV guides you thru everything needed to begin watching your new set. Then comes the fun of setting up a custom picture, this TV makes that fairly easy, with a very easy to use menu and help section that explains exactly what every setting will do. It takes time to setup but its well worth it.
Also using this TV to watch videos online is fun and easy. Setting up and watching You Tube is a snap. You can also use Android devices as very fancy remote and guide.
Overall, very happy with this TV.
A TV lovers, TV.

Excellent Picture, Easy Set-Up

No problems setting up the TV. Beautiful picture. Effortless connection to Wi-Fi even though mine is an Apple Airport Extreme. The rest of the system includes an old Bose Lifestyle 25 surround sound system connected directly to the cable box, Comcast Xfinity box connected to TV via HDMI, an Apple TV to HDMI 2, and a Sony Blueray DVD connected to HDMI 3. Remote control is intuitive and built-in help screens are a quick way to find answers.

Best HD TV in this price range as of 10/14/2014

Always enjoyed Sony products and this tv does not disappoint. I'm waiting for an OLED 4K at a reasonable price so I bought this KDL60w630b to hold me over. It's so nice I may not need the OLED. Well, not right now anyway. Not much into the apps yet. The wifi setup was a breeze. I really only cared about the picture quality and this model IS the best bang for your buck. I have a 10 year old top of the line Sony HD tv and this low end Sony is so much better. Technology is a wonderful thing. Sony too!!!

Good TV

Seems a fine TV: picture clear, no motion problems, remote is solid for this price level. Cleverly boxed, but no instructions on how to open it (delivery guys showed me). Also, if you can't find the stand parts, they are under the bottom/base styrofoam.

Very easy to set up, no trouble at all!!! The best picture as soon as I turned it on!!! Works great with the wireless internet!!! Works great with Apple TV!! I have really enjoyed the Sony HD TV!!! Movies are great on it and football is like you are at the game. All of my cameras, stereo equipment, head phones are Sony. My old Bravia TV was Sony, is at least 12 years old and still works great. More than pleased with the LED HD TV!!!!! Sony is the best!!!

Great TV, Great Price

Upgraded from an older Sony and have not been disappointed. It's great how it syncs with other Sony devices. The picture quality is fantastic. I was worried about the sound from looking at other TVs on the market but was pleasantly impressed with the internal speakers. The wifi connectivity is a huge plus and it also helps to be able to control the TV with a phone app. Searching with the remote was a bit time consuming. Over very happy with my purchase.
