Mixed feelings ...

We purchased this GE Profile counter depth side by side to replace our 16 year old same model. While the interior has improved (love the LED lighting, redesigned interior walls for more shelf room in fridge and glass shelves in freezer), the exterior does not feel as solid quality wise. Also, it is very noisy at times including a lot of "knocking" and "popping" from inside that we never had with our old unit. Ironically, the "fingerprint resistant" stainless seems to show prints and streaks more than our old model. It does cool well. I'm a very agreeable person and embrace change, so it's rare for me to rate something as "Average." Given the price of this unit and my long time experience with this model, it seems fair to share my perspective.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Dead on arrival

Brand new fridge was not working on arrival. GE came out and rather than replacing the whole fridge for a working one , they replaced the motherboard. Fridge is now cooling, but the lights are not working. On top of the DOA, the fridge was very dirty. Just want a new working one, but GE is not replacing the fridge/Freezer. Very disappointed in GE and will never buy GE again.

Too small, wasted space

Both sides are too small. I transferred my condiments from my old fridge door to this one and they didn't fit. Then they filled a shelf. Can't afford to lose a shelf. The freezer also wastes a shelf with the ice maker. Prefer the ice maker in the door with both an ice and water spout. This only has one spout you have to change.

It was selected and installed by developers in my new house. Refrigerator is too small and cramped.
Mechanically and esthetically it is great.
Difficult to remove a little ice by hand, ice dispenser gives too much ice.

Looks good, operates poor

We haven’t been too pleased with this appliance. It’s loud and despite a tech taking a look, he said the same thing. The volume is definitely smaller than what we expected and that is in part to the top shelf design. The ice maker is inconsistent on dispensing. I wish we had gone with a different unit.

In a counter depth refrigerator, I do no like the bumps in the ceiling that
restrict the height of the shelf. I really can only use this fridge for condiments and milk, and the ice maker is not reliable as to size...it often makes chips on the cube setting. I have to have another fridge in the garage for freezer space and tall bottles.

Annoying ice maker

My husband likes crushed ice and I do not. If he puts it on crushed ice it takes me filling three extra large cups of crushed ice before it will begin to dispense cubes again. Very frustrating.
