COLD....COLDER....COLDEST....WAY BELOW FREEZING!

My old side-by-side refrigerator/freezer was practically a family heirloom. It was an old Kenmore 19 cubic foot model that had performed perfectly for 30 (yes, 30) years without a hitch until she kicked the bucket earlier this month (original compressor seized). I felt like I should have given her a proper burial in our backyard with an illuminated memorial shrine to honor her for such a long and faithful service career. My wife begged me to buy a modern, stainless steel, French-door, bottom freezer model and since I've always preferred GE appliances for our home I bought the GE model GFE26JYMWFFS and we are thrilled to own it. Very quiet, great architecture inside and out and everything works so smoothly, especially the ice-maker (crushed or cubed) and cold, filtered water dispenser which is easily accessed from the outside front of the refrigerator. Both doors offer massive storage capacity just on their own but inside the refrigerator core is an enormous amount of space in a very organized array of sliding drawer compartments and fully adjustable or removable stainless, tempered glass shelving. It's almost big enough to climb inside in the heat of Summer. SO CLEAN....and all of the components are easy to remove for cleaning. It's really an awesome configuration with a designated space for everything; fruits and vegetables, salad crisper, cold drinks - even one adjustable shelf which allows you to store taller containers such as 3 liter bottles, and everything is clear see-through material, easy to clean and light weight to make maintenance chores easier. Then there is the bottom freezer....Wow! A ton of storage space with two levels to fill. Easy pull out access is so practical. We love everything about this model and I would highly recommend it to everyone looking to purchase one. 5 star!

Still new. So far so good. Freezer drawer is a bit cumbersome. Shelves and drawers have limited arrangement possibilities.

We are so pleased with our new GE refrigerator! It looks great; love the fact that fingerprints to not show on the matte black finish of the black slate. The layout works well for us and the interior LED lighting is a big upgrade from what we had before! I would definitely recommend this refrigerator if you are in the market for a new one!

Wish it held more ice. But overall great purchase. Lots of room. Wish freezer had close assist. It’s a little hard/heavy yo close.
