GE Fridge - nice but not super quiet

New fridge is not exactly quiet. We have it in an office breakroom, so we can tolerate it. Fridge was whining and called GE for a service call. It was the ice maker motor. Service was fast and couldn't be happier with the entire service experience. Technician was knowledgeable and fast. He knew exactly what the issue was, replaced the motor, and was gone within 30 minutes. I was impressed with GE service.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Runs long and is loud.

I had this refrigerator for about 3 weeks and am unhappy with it. It seams to run constantly and is very loud. I replaced a previous GE Profile refrigerator after about 12 years because the ice maker broke, but that one was much quieter.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If I could do it all over again...

The things I like about this unit. 1) the freezer.
Things I don't like about this unit 1) everything else.
The ice maker in the door is atrocious. It's slow to produce cubes and the holding capacity is tiny. Forget about it if you have family or friends over. You will run out of ice quickly and never recover.
Despite having a large cubic foot print the refrigerator really doesn't seem to hold that much and there is barely room for condiments.
If I could trade this thing in I would do it in a second.

Stupid Loud - Get a different fridge

This is the loudest fridge I've ever been near. It's even louder than the commercial fridges that Marriott uses. I had a technician come out, who sent the information out to an Engineer and they replied that it's just how the system runs.
To put it in perspective, I can hear it gurggling over my dishwasher running. I must turn up my TV to hear it over the noises it's making.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

There are better options for the money

This model has several flaws. The most aggravating is the noise level. I have never had a fridge that makes this level of noise. The operator manual says that the noise is "normal"...but I can tell you it is noisy enough to be quite aggravating. The other frustrating item is the print on the front panel is far too small and not backlit. There is an indicator light to let you know which setting has been selected...but the print is so small that in evening light you cant see/read it. The print for the front panel should be backlit. This fridge came as a package on a new home purchase. It is an attractive piece and seems to work well. However the noise alone would keep me from recommending or buying this again.
