Tortuous humming noise

We had a repair service look at it and said that it is normal for the fan for icemaker to make this noise. I cannot believe that GE finds this acceptable. I am going crazy listening to this noise day and night. It hardly ever stops!

Ice Build-up In Fridge and Freezer

I have owned the refrigerator for about 3 months. There is constant ice buildup in the freezer. The fridge also has moisture and ice.

Optimized storage

Compared to the LG LMXS28626D french door refrigerator we had previously, this GE fridge has more room with fewer cubic feet. This is possible with optimized storage that is provided by the GE fridge. The ample door storage gives more room inside the fridge for food storage.
The sliding drawers in the freezer provide more storage than the previous fridge which had two separate freezer sections, allowing us to store more commonly used freezer items in the GE fridge instead of the deep freezer. This, in turn, saves time from making daily trips—sometimes multiple times a day—to the deep freeze to get items. We food prep to reduce costs, so the additional storage in the freezer is a boon for storing meals for my wife to take to work.
We are a family of four: two disabled adults, an eight-year-old, and a wife that works full time. As such, we prepare large meals when we take the time to cook and eat leftovers throughout the week—cooking one meal during the middle of the week and three to four meals on the weekend, not including any breakfast meals cooked through the week or weekend. This fridge is making meal prepping easier.
The only issue I have with the fridge is I wish it stayed a bit cooler than it does. It is within its operating limits, but the degree variance of its operating conditions compared to the temperature set on the fridge is not ideal. We use temperature gauges made for refrigerators to keep taps on internal temperature after the LG fridge gave out after only three years. The fridge is set at 35 degrees Fahrenheit, yet the internal temperature registers just under 40 degrees. This is with the temp gauge moved to various spots in the fridge. The crispers do keep cooler than the rest of the fridge, and the freezer temperature is spot on at 0 degrees.
The ice maker works much better than the previous LG fridge and makes ice fast, or at least keeps up with the household where the LG could not after another adult moved into the house six months ago.

We had previously owned a GE Profile Refrigerator for 20 years and it was a very efficient, great refrigerator. We like our new GE Refrigerator. It is relatively quiet, looks great and we hope it will be just as great as our old one was
