Great fridge, but...

We bought this 6 months ago. Works perfectly and we love it, however I wish we would have known about the cost of the replacement water filter cartridges. Very expensive! Can't use "generic" filters as they don't have the required "chip". Except for that, we are happy with this purchase.

I am unhappy with the ice maker and water which are designed badly. Ice and water go all over the place. And the other is the heavy bottom freezer. Otherwise I love it.

Love the Slate Color!

I really like my new fridge. The only thing I don't like are the stainless steel handles. They are always full of fingerprints. Wish they slate also.

The freezer drawer sticks if you push it in all the way. The protective plastic stuck to the appliance is really really difficult to completely remove and looks just terrible around the freezer handle. This is easily within GE's control. The hinge cover on top doesn't completely cover the hinge on one side and doesn't fit well on either. The edges of the top cover of the freezer door have sharp corners on the top at either end. I could have been impressed by this product with just a little better fit and finish. It's also kind of loud.

A great step up!

We finally joined the French Door revolution. This refrigerator has everything we needed - namely space and a low-profile, multi-functioning water/ice dispenser. The multiple drawers and their flexibility is also a great draw. We looked at several different refrigerators and decided that this one was the best value for the money. So far we have been extremely happy.
