I love this counter depth refrigerator. I prefer this side by side over my previous freezer on the bottom. I like the pull open wire like shelves in freezer door. Ample room in this product for two person household. This fingerprint resistant stainless steel product cleans easily using soft cloth, water and mild soap. Runs quietly. Drawers in fridge and freezer are good sizes.

Multiple issues with this refrigerator in year 1

We like the style and capacity; however, the computer went out in ~6 months and now the icemaker isn't working at month 11. It makes a lot of noise when cooling, so we fear it isn't going to have a long useful life.

For the best help with the ice maker, we once again recommend taking advantage of your warranty and scheduling service with a certified GE Appliances technician that will be able to accurately diagnose and repair your appliance. You can do so by calling GE Appliance Service at 1-800-GECares (1-800-432-2737) or by clicking here: https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm
We're confident our technician will be able to get you taken care of. In addition, we don't think you have any reason to worry about the sound your unit is making to cool.
Modern refrigerators have new features and are more energy efficient than older ones. The foam insulation used in new models has excellent insulating capabilities and is very energy efficient however it is not as sound absorbent as previously used fiberglass insulation. Hard surfaces such as ceramic tile, vinyl or hard wood floors, walls and kitchen cabinets may make these operating sounds more noticeable. As a result, certain sounds may be unfamiliar on a new refrigerator at first. These sounds are normal and are usually an indication that the refrigerator is operating properly.
