Great refrigerator.

Works as expected and is quiet. Was always running out of ice with the old one. Not anymore.
Would like the option of basket to fit on freezer shelf, enabling better storage.

Love Everything About It

Replaced another GE fridge that was 17 years old and still going strong but we wanted new appliances. Love the LED lighting inside, the control panel is well designed. Not a fan of the dripping water dispenser which by the way our old GE fridge did the same thing, its more than a drip or two after dispensing water. Not as deep as our prior fridge. Overall build quality seems very high which is why we bought GE again. Love how you can check how much water filter capacity is remaining on the digital display.

Overall happy w the purchase. Freezer is small. Ice maker is slow to make and slow to dispense.Ice maker takes up room up top and the bottom drawer is only like a half drawer. Fridge space is spot on.

Love my new fridge!!

My new refrigerator is an excellent replacement for the previous side by side I owned. It fit nicely in the existing counter depth space. Storage is great and it is lite well. The ice maker in my last on was hard to take out and put back but this one is extremely easy. I love the look and have received a lot of compliments on it.

Too noisy

While at a friends home who has this exact same refrigerator as we do we noticed a huge difference. Ours runs much louder than theirs. Ours noise level is loud enough that we can be disturbed by it in our kitchen and can hear it even upstairs. Very disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It can be very difficult to ascertain if the sound level is normal when making comparisons as the acoustics, design, cabinetry and even flooring in your kitchen could all make a difference as to how loud you perceive the refrigerator to be.

Small, not suitable for larger items

This is the refrigerator that came from the builder with my new home, and I had no choice in the matter. This may simply be what you get with side-by-side style refrigerators, but it seems awfully small inside, especially the freezer. A substantial volume of the freezer side is taken up with the ice maker and in-door water/ice dispenser. You can forget about going to the warehouse store and stocking up on larger items because they won't fit. That means that family-sized frozen lasagna, or that 8-lb box of frozen burger patties, or the big box of corn dogs won't fit. On the refrigerator side, don't plan on being able to fit a full slab of ribs, or a half-sheet cake, or that chicken street taco kit that comes on a long and skinny tray. You won't be able to fit a frozen turkey in the freezer, and if you do buy a frozen turkey, it'll be a tight squeeze to defrost on the refrigerator side. The narrowness of the refrigerator side also means that stuff tends to get lost in the back. Anyway, if I had my preference I'd go with french door and bottom pull-out freezer any day of the week. The ability to use the full width allows you the flexibility to store larger items, and who wants to go shopping with a tape measure to figure out if the item you're looking at is going to fit. As a family of 5, this refrigerator isn't suitable on it's own - we rely heavily on a spare garage refrigerator/freezer that are wider. With just this refrigerator we'd have to plan on grocery shopping every couple of days, and not being able to buy the value-sized items. Also - if you want filtered water & ice, you need to budget for buying the pricey GE-branded water filters 2-3 times per year, because the XWFE water filter is not backward-compatible with the less expensive XWF filter.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Convenient

There is one shelf in the refrigerator that's retractable allowing an item to be twice as tall to be placed there. The door shelves hold plenty. The freezer has cubby-like "shelves" on the door that tilt out. Ours was part of our home purchase. There was an issue with the ice maker and water dispenser. However, GE has been on top of it since we contacted them regarding the issue. Overall, it's a practical, attractive refrigerator.
