Nice Cooktop

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this cooktop a month ago and we've been pleased. While a little expensive, it;s very attractive and there are a couple of the features are worth noting -- The power plus burner really performs as advertised and the bridge element allows even cooking over both burners on the left. From our perspective, the bridge element was a very key feature. There are a couple of known negatives -- The placement of the "keep warm zone" in the middle front takes up prime real estate and the location of the control panel is pretty restrictive. Unfortunately, the control location impedes our ability to use our long gridle on the bridged double burner. We will have to buy a different griddle in order to use the main feature. So, while we certainly recommend this product, we want future buyers to be more aware of the limitations.

Terrible power plus burner

I just built a home and purchased all frigidaire appliances, including this cooktop and I am highly unpleased with it. The power plus burner get way too hot and even boils things on low. I essentially cannot cook anything on this element (other than boiling water) without burning the food. Which mean I technically only have 3 functioning burners because the keep warm element really doesn't "cook."
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Is the element more than 1/2 inch larger than your cookware? If so, large elements may produce too much heat for small pans. Cookware should match the size of the element as closely as possible. Sleek and well...professional!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Redoing my kitchen and purchased the Professional cooktop and single wall oven. I was looking for a sleek modern look, with lots of functionality as I have 4 teenage boys (ie CONSTANTLY COOKING!) If I'm not on it cooking meals, it's one of them cooking pre-meal meals or post-meal meals. If you have teenage boys you know what I mean.
Features are great - love the BIG power unit on right, perfect for big pots of pasta. And the linked units on the left make pancake breakfasts with a griddle a snap. I've even used the keep warm unit for boys coming in late from practice. Kudos!
This is my first ceramic cooktop, i had an old coil electric before - so I was uber-nervous about scratching it. After using it for about a month, I am much more relaxed - having easily cleaned up the usual messes of a busy kitchen. But I paid attention to the recommendations: gave away my trusty iron skillet :( and dumped any of my tired warped pans, cuz they don't heat well and are really wobbly on the stovetop. And make sure you scour the bottom of the pans you're keeping to remove any burnt crud/deposits (alas, do I reveal too much?!) I also use the ceramic cleaner. I am NOT a neat freak but believe if you want to keep this baby shiny and new, you need to use the recommended products. It's not rocket science though. Anyone can do it.
Finally, in case you are thinking about the Professional oven, let me give you some insights. This guy is unprofessionally NOISY! Kinda like having the loud uncle hanging out in the kitchen with you. It has DUAL convection fans that blast on any time the oven is heating (including in non-convection mode) and again as it reheats. It vents hot air at waist level too...which I guess is to be expected. Just new to me. Mainly the learjet level of noise from the fans is distracting. Saw lots of feedback about this on posts AFTER I purchased the oven, but it was new when I bought it so that feedback was not available The function of the oven seems fine - I would love Frigidaire to come out with a retrofit to quiet this "noisy uncle" down, I have enough of the people-version of that at family parties. How 'bout it Frigidaire - are you listening ?

Just because I mentioned a competitor's brand this one was replacing does not take away the fact that it is poorly designed and the features should reflect the high price tag! This model does not indicate which burner is hot and it's finish is hard to keep clean and streak free!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this cooktop a couple of months ago to replace a broken cooktop from another brand. I love the features of this cooktop. I especially like the heavy duty and precise feel of the control knobs; the layout of the 4 burners and warming zone; as well as the quick and precise heating of the elements. You do have to watch the large burner and keep the heat at Medium (5) or lower for most things except boiling water. I start on Medium and drop it to 4 once it has reached the right temperature for a proper sear. It works perfectly when you follow the strategy above especially for sautéing, but it can burn your food and pan if you start off too hot and leave it alone unless you are boiling water. The double burners and bridge work great. This is a nice feature for cooking pancakes. I’ve also used it to cook a row of burgers and toast the buns at the same time. Also the placement of the right side large burner centered vertically is very well designed for single pan recipes. I like that you can move the pan to the center to keep it warm in the warming zone as well.

Abysmal Factory Service

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I actually like the cooktop. It's Frigidaire's abysmal factory service that received the one star rating. It took three months before the Frigidaire technicians realized that they didn't have the technical expertise to fix the cooktop. During the three months, Frigidaire personnel told me NOT to use the cooktop for safety reasons.
