Great Machine; Horrible Smart Phone App

A wonderful machine; high quality from top to bottom. However, the smartphone app is horrible. Buy the machine because you like it, not because of what they promised (but did not deliver) with the smartphone application.
Cons: very bad smartphone app

Wifi features not that great

I have only had this for a day, but will update it later if I can. The washer and dryer seem to have good functionality, but what is supposed to be above and beyond is the wifi capability. Well, as it stands now, it needs some improvement. Firstly, you can only monitor, not control the dryer. Maybe this is OK for a use case of wanting a remote alarm when it is complete. However, what about if I wanted to start something to be ready when I got home? The washer is controlable, but it is pretty minimal. You can only start one of the standard wash cycles. Both of these are limited by having to push a button on the touch screen to enable them to work. This is not just a one-time thing -- You have to do this each time. Why doesn't make sense to me.
The android app is not very usable. Firstly, it only officially supports old phones like GS1, 2, and the old Note. Are you serious? I was able to side load it on my Note 2. It seems to work, but, like I said, it is not very user friendly. Every time I start the app is asks some question about if I have front load or top load -- Why? Then I need to select Washer, Dryer, etc. -- Fine. Then I need to select Indoor or Outdoor. What kind of crazy language is that? What does this even mean? Is this if I decided to install my dryer outdoors? Is this if I am outside when I am accessing the app? I think I have discovered that this really means if you are on the LAN or not. When I select Indoors (LAN) it will search for my dryer. This takes a relatively long time. Why do I have to sit through this search every time? If the washer dryer is not "On" it will not find them. Why can't the dryer be connected to the network, but not "on"? After I select the dryer (or washer), it take several more seconds to connect. It was working fairly well yesterday, but I have some problems connecting this morning, but it is now better.
For the premium on these appliances, these apps and functionality need to be much better. If anyone from Samsung would like to get feedback from a real user, they can feel free to contact me.

Best Dryer EVER

I love this dryer. The touch screen is so modern and cool my boys who never do laundry want to. It dries clothes quicker than any other dryer I have previously owned. It has a sensor so it can tell when the clothes are dry rather than continuing to run when clothes are dry. I am anxious to see how much my electricity bill goes down. If I need a shirt refreshed before going out I put it on the steam cycle and it will be wrinkle free. I have previously owned a dryer with steam that didn't work as well. Love that it has an app to tell you when your clothes will be finished. You can't go wrong with this dryer it is the best of the best.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable

Newly purchased dryer

Just bought this item yesterday and we've been doing laundry all day. It's was a great deal. I would recommend this product to everyone.

Designed to Fail

I purchased the washer and the dryer. The touchscreen on the dryer failed just a few month after the warranty period was over. Now, less than 3 years after the purchase, only the top half of the touchscreen on the washer works so I can't get to half the features. It is very pretty design but it is not build to last more a couple years and the repair is extremely expensive. As one of the most expensive washers on the market, you would expect it to be built to last but is is not.
Pros: Bright display
Cons: Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fine until the touchscreen breaks

Wish I hadn't gone for the touchscreen model. It's really finicky to use: they designed it with this cutesy "bounce" when you scroll, but that means it just scrolls and then bounces back and it takes WAY longer to get to where you want to go than it should. Overdesigned.
But THEN the touchscreen went out. Not entirely, just huge sections of it. I see a review where this happened with others. I can buy a new dryer for the cost of repairing the touchscreen.
