Stay away from this dryer

I was excited about this ventless energy efficient dryer. Now I am only disappointed and extremely frustrated by how poorly the machine works and the lack of satisfactory redress by Whirlpool Customer Service. I get frequent F9 and E1 error messages during a single load of drying which require vacuuming the secondary filter each time. Lint also accumulates beyond the secondary filter inside the machine. Being inaccessible to me, this requires a service call for cleaning. The technician needs to take the machine almost completely apart, including removing the drum to access the area for cleaning.

Heat Pump Dryer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Long Drying times as compared to a conventional Gas or Electric Dryer. Also, since most people are going going to stack this dryer or slide it under a counter, the location of the fan screen in the rear of the unit need to be re-routed to the FRONT of the unit. How can Whirlpool expect anyone to slide out a stacking unit from a closet on a monthly basis to clean this scree. Better product design is needed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was nervous about getting this after not being able to do a vented dryer. But after owning for 2 months it dries great. Bought an extended warranty in case there are any issues since there seem to be a lot of complaints. Can't tell the difference between this and my old vented driyer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Seems to work great so far, just put the small drain pipe right into your washer drain. It does heat up our utility room quite a bit, that will be nice in the winter but not for summer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Been using this dryer for a few months now. It's great! No vent to worry about, easy to set up and use, and it also saves energy. My utility bill is even about 20% lower since I started using it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was hesitant about purchasing this dryer at first. After some research I decided it was my best option. My old dryer was vented into a bucket. There was no easy fix to vent outdoors. I hated seeing condensation on my walls as it dripped down. This dryer is awesome. No more condensation! It does run a bit longer, but well worth that small inconvenience. The clothes aren’t “ cooked” like hot air dryers. This heat pump dryer is a gentle drying machine. Clothes have less shrinkage and heat damage with this dryer.

It's Fine When It Actually Works

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought it and had it installed in our new home in January. We began using it in February, and found almost immediately that it would halt and display the error message F1 E9. This occurs almost every time that we use it. Multiple attempts, with a power down, are then required to finally get it working. Our loads range from small to moderate and the majority are Low Heat mode. We now clean both lint filters prior to each run, but that makes no difference. We still have to jockey with almost every dryer load. When it works, it works as expected. Being a Heat Pump Dryer, it takes a bit longer to achieve the desired level of dryness, but that's not a real problem. We just need to have the Dryer work reliably.
