[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this after Sandy wrecked everything on the first floor. linear compressor failed after almost 10 years. Warranty replacement because of the 10 year warranty. Technician was pleasant, friendly and efficient. Flat fee service call is expensive considering the warranty. Good fridge, does wha'ts needed.

I called the local appliance repair shop to come diagnose the problem. They told me to call the LG warranty line, which I did. LG verified all the details and then authorized the necessary parts. The same repair shop came back out with the parts in hand and fixed my refrigerator. It is working like a new refrigerator once again.

I bought the product in 2014 and had a reoccurring major problems with the unit which is related to the fan unit for the fresh compartment malfunctioning due to frost build up (apparently a design flaw) which made the product temporarily useless.
Further the design of the drawers in the freezer compartment is very poor and allows goods falling of the shelves and in the back of the freezer and under the main drawer from where it it is extremely hard to retrieve. The design of such drawers was done with only little practical thought and causes unnecessary problems for the customer
