Didn’t last 5 years - yet another one

Stopped cooling. Independent repairman said evaporator coils were bad, $1,200 to repair, best to toss the fridge. Said to avoid Samsung/LG.
Called LG. Two months and 2 repairmen later:
- 1st licensed LG repairman: replaced compressor. Result: never cooled.
- 2nd licensed LG repairman: coolant leak, refilled. Result: never cooled.
- 1st licensed LG repairman: replaced compressor. Result: never cooled.
- 2nd licensed LG repairman: coolant leak, refilled. Result: never cooled.
My review: this fridge is the best designed fridge I have ever seen or used. Easy to clean, spacious, a joy to use. Kudos to the physical designers. But under the hood it’s a disaster. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Best refrigerator ever owned

I have had a lot of refers in my 70+ years but this is by far the best I have ever owned. The convenience of the double door is the best liked feature. Also only refer I have ever owned that has ample lighting both in refer and freezer. Runs silently, shelves convenient, front panel control, no ice maker to take up valuable room in refer.....some-one was thinking when they designed it into the door. Yes, I recommend this product.

Best fridge ever

We purchased this fridge because our GE refrigerator broke down after about 6 years of usage. When we first laid our eyes on this fridge we instantly fell in love! It's super shiny and pretty and the door in door is absolutely awesome! We drink a lot of milk and it's really great to be able to open up just a fraction of the fridge and not the whole thing. We haven't had any real problems with the fridge except for the ice machine and that's not a big problem for us because we don't consume much ice. The ice machine sometimes clogs up and we have to empty it out and restart the ice production.

The ability to make adjustments easily to the shelves inside is great. Same goes for the freezer. The freezer is deep and the two drawers up top provide sliders that adjust to make room for odd sized products, everything is easy to access without having to move everything to get what you need. The door in door feature is great. The items we use often are easy to access without having to open the doors constantly and letting the temperature in the fridge to fluctuate. I usually forget to close the door when I'm busy cooking, I know but I do, the chime on the door lets me know it's open. It was annoying at first but I need the reminder, and you can turn it off if you like. The ices cubes are smaller than my old ice maker and it hold less ice in the hopper, but the larger space in the fridge is a better trade off for me, and we have never run out of ice. the water in the door runs cold and filtered well so there is no smell or bad taste from our hard water. I also registered my product online and get the tips and tricks email from LG, so far I've found the quick info pretty useful for the setting and stuff.

Lots of room and efficient

Love this fridge, I can fit everything easily and see it all, and it is so quiet and efficient. I worried about the door-in-door being a useless feature but we probably use it the most and it's nice to not have to open the whole door to get those products.

The door within a door is really convenient. I especially love the freezer compartment's two slide out drawers and still have plenty of space for large items in the bottom bins. The only negative is difficulty in cleaning off fingerprints and water marks on the stainless areas, especially the water and ice dispenser area.

I am in love with this fridge! There is a ton of space and the shelves adjust to fit what you need to fit. I love the glide n serve drawer with adjustable temp- I've used it for produce, deli meats or uncooked pork and chicken. The door in door feature is so convenient for storing butter and condiments. I love the ice maker-I've never seen so much ice in my life. I fill up the extra ice bin in the freezer, then shut off the ice maker for a few days until we can use it all up. The freezer has a ton of space and is easy to organize. The controls are great and I love the alarm feature which sounds if any door is left open for 60 seconds-great if you have kids that don't always pay attention to things like doors closing all the way. I made the mistake of assuming the water filter came installed and ended up throwing out a lot of ice and water because they tasted terrible before I figured out that the filter that came in a box with the product was not an extra one, but the one that needs to be installed. It was easy to install and the water and ice taste great now. I highly recommend this fridge/freezer and suggest you read the whole manual before using.

door-in-door; up there with sliced bread

Did a lot of research before purchase and knew what I wanted when I walked into the store and have had no regrets - just love using it and looking at it!!! Lots of room, easy to organize and not losing track of leftovers. With the 2 slide drawers in the freezer and the divider in the bottom, I do not have to dig through things to find what I am looking for.
