Good storage space. Easy to access

Have always been a fan of the side-by-side refrigerator. After purchasing this unit, I am sold on the bottom freezer feature. Find the unit has ample storage and especially like the door-in a-door feature. Would highly recommend this product.

Great fridge overall but scratches too easily

We love this refrigerator overall- terrific features. However, after 3 weeks of ownership, the water dispenser has several scratches due to normal use. We're only using normal glasses and plastic cups and the dispenser has several scratches on it. We called the 800 # and they kept insisting we use soft cloths to clean it. That isn't the problem (and we're using microfiber cloths to clean it). I would expect a better design to prevent scratching for a part that is going to receive regular contact with other items. At this point, we're thinking of getting a mobile phone screen saver to prevent the scratching.

I was a doubting Thomas at first, but of all the products out there yours caught my eye for it's pure beauty, then came the function, buy far beat the others hands down, construction seems perfect, and well made and thought out. Capacity is where you need it most, I've had this for about a month, the compliments we get are over the top.
So being probably the last appliance we buy, we are thoroughly pleased with our selection, by the way, we also purchased a stove and microwave that you make, and are overjoyed with those as well.
Thank you LG for keeping an Older couple happy.

Great Fridge / Poor Ice Maker

This would have been a great fridge but it has a seriously deficient, poorly designed, ice maker. Since the ice maker is one of the most utilized (and visible) features, I can't give it more than an average rating.
Starting with the positive. The innovative door-in-door feature is fantastic and probably saves energy. The capacity is also very good and the layout enables you to use most of it.
The big drawback though is the ice maker. Ice keeps freezing up in the delivery chute. Once this happens, it is no longer functional as you can't get ice out. It is very difficult to fix as the ice bin above it is essentially frozen in place and you have to chip the ice out to free it.
The manual suggests dispensing cubed ice (which we already do) and using a plastic tool to chip the ice. This indicates that LG recognized the problem but did not invest enough to properly design the ice-maker.
It would have been a fantastic, innovative, fridge except for the ice maker.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have only one small complaint. When the motor runs, it is very loud. Very distracting. I am hard of hearing, and it is very loud even to me. We will be calling someone to come and check it out. Other then that, we are very pleased with our choice.

Best Refrigertor I have ever owned!

Without a doubt, the best designed and engineered refrigerator I have ever owned. Love the French Doors as well as the "Door In a Door", it makes storage so easy not only for everyday, but is fantastic for parties. Try fitting even one party tray into most regular refrigerators, not happening...with this fridge we can easily fit 4 LARGE party trays inside. It has been very energy efficient. My only hesitancy was the freezer on the bottom, wasn't sure how I would like it, turns out I really like this feature, its much easier to keep organized and very handy, you can easily see everything in it. I like the design of the water and ice in the door, easier to keep clean than my other one which had a "well" where water could collect and stagnate. This is much more sanitary and efficient. This is the refrigerator I have been waiting for my whole life!! And I'm NOT kidding! Thanks LG for another great product...now all my appliances are LG!

Super noisy refrigerator

Refrigerator compressor and fan are constantly coming on. Open the refrigerator for a few seconds and when you close it you can hear the noise. Side cabinets do not allow for holding wine bottles. However, I do like the features of having 4 doors and separate easy to access compartments in refrigerator and freezer sections.

Best Fridge We Ever Owned

I was at first attracted to the door in door feature, which by the way is the best new feature for usefulness on the market today. It truly is a power saver as well.
But the big surprise came when I tasted the water, we all suddenly realized, we no longer needed to buy bottle water, and we haven't. I haven't spent one dime on bottled water in months now and we were going through 3 cases a week almost. In time it will truly pay for itself. Best Fridge We Ever Owned!
