If I could not have a hood, I would, but due to our kitchen layout and permitting we needed one. But this is beautiful, modern looking and very quiet as far as this type of product goes. The lighting and fan options are great. We are very pleased.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] bought this item two weeks ago and love it, looks great, vented to outside works good, wish I could have mounted it to max heights of 36 inch over cook top, but my ceiling is too low for that 8 ft, had to modify it to get to 32 inch height over cook top
