Very good refrigerater with some poor designs

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First critique will be interior room for large containers ie milk, juices etc. if the two bins at the bottom were reduced by 1” in height I believe the shelving areas would be improved. When the shelves are lowered enough for large containers there is a reduction in space to remaining shelves. Along with this is the side (door) compartments. The framing (structure) of these are bulky looking and take up valuable space.
As for the outside I feel there is a huge blunder on KitchenAids part. Unless you get the receiving container lined up the ice dispenser chute you will put ice all over the floor. A reduction and lenghtening of this dispenser needs to be reworked. Along with this is the water, it is not a controlled dispense, it hard to explain how the water comes out but you have to hold the receptacle right up under the discharge tube or your hand and the surrounding area are splattered wet.
Freezer compartment is excellent, no issues what so ever. Two small drawers have no issues and were a good part of the buying decision.
I would be glad to send either pictures or a video if anyone cares to see or doesn’t understand this response.

Nothing but Problems

The refrigerator came with the house I purchased last year. After flushing it, cleaning it out, and turning vacation mode off, we have had nothing but problems.
The ice dispenser never works. Just makes noise and the ice is so frozen together the dispenser cannot break it apart. The ice dispenser, despite being removed, cleaned, and reinstalled properly, leaks all over the drawer below it.
The buttons on the flex drawer where you can determine the mode immediately stopped working and toggling between modes. We had it set constantly to meat.
The water dispenser now goes crazy. The dispense by oz was never consistent, but it was nice. That stopped working and now we have to leave the display locked otherwise water will randomly start pouring out of the dispenser on to the floor.
At this point, we are just waiting to see what else breaks.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Disappointing.

We inherited this fridge with our new home, and loved it for the first few months. However, the fridge was purchased in June 2016 and now needs over $1000 in repairs (between the initial assessment, parts, and labour) - the panel in the deli drawer has caused problems with the dispenser and lighting system. VERY disappointed in this product - for the price tag, one assumes that it's of high quality. I've had fridges at a much lower price point perform much better, without needing significant repairs in 2.5 years from purchase.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Horrible workmanship

broken freezer

Wonderful features!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We remodeled to have “his and her” kitchens (I’m the baker and pastry cook) so bought 2 of these refrigerators. I especially like the produce drawers that you can just open on their own. And the freezer has a huge storage space even with there being 2 drawers and a decided lower compartment. I would, however, like to be able to take out the dividers in the lower drawer of the freezer. Inside the refer part are big storage areas on the left side door. Right side door has small compartments due to ice make, but that’s okay with me. This way I know everything is on the right side so I don’t have to open both doors when looking for salad dressing and the like. I like the little herb drawer too. Keeps them fresh longer. There is only one disappointing factor for me and that is that you cannot adjust the two shelve halves to match up to make one level shelf from one side to the other. It has to do with the way they meet in the middle that won’t allow it. I would really like to see them remedy this in future models. I think splitting the shelf is a great option, but it also needs to be able to adjust to make one level (even) shelf too. Having two refers side by side in my kitchen, it’s not too big of an issue for me. I just spill over into my husband’s!
