Poor design with safety concerns

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This appliance was purchased as part of an appliance package during our new house build. We didn't realize the "microwave" was going to be a duel purpose microwave with convection. The door on this microwave pulls down instead of opening from the side. Because it is installed so high - above the oven - it is hard to remove hot foods out of the microwave. We are average height adults and we have to reach up OVER the opened microwave door. It is VERY concerning about the safety of removing hot liquids/foods in an awkward position (having to reach UP and OVER the door).
We will probably be replacing this microwave.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

At least this one hasn't caught on fire yet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this built-in microwave to replace our previous one, which malfunctioned and caught on fire. The new microwave/convection oven fits into the space where the old one was perfectly! I would have preferred an oven that was cheaper and was microwave-only, since we already have two JennAir wall convection ovens, but unfortunately KitchenAid no longer makes a microwave-only oven that would fit our cabinetry. Sad. So now I have three convection ovens, even though I didn't need or want three convection ovens.
The appliance itself it nice. The microwave function works as well as its predecessor did. I've tested the convection oven as well, and it works great. It fit into our existing cabinetry perfectly.
I'm happy with the performance of the microwave/convection oven. I would have preferred a microwave-only oven at a lower price point, but KitchenAid no longer makes them. Hence the three star review.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It is so easy to use and does so many things it blows me away. The sensing units are quite accurate. If you can think it this microwave can do it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this on 12/5/24, and it was just fixed and able to use for the first time on 1/15/25. First month was "defective" per store I purchased it from and parts needed to be replaced 3x. So now, I have only used it a few times so I don't feel I can give it a review. I blame the store 100% as the installers did not install properly which I was charged extra for, and the end result was the installer did not wire properly.
