Great Upgrade

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The microwave is a definite upgrade from the standard built-in it replaced. The reheat feature does an exceptional job in adding heat while minimizing changing the texture of the food. It looks great, as well!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this as a replacement to our other Kitchen Aid that couldn't be repaired. Had to replace the handle on the new one with the old one so that it would match our other appliances. Hopefully this one will work and not require as many repairs as the first one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Terrible... the microwave still has not been hooked up. This was supposedly compatible with a Kitchen Aid Micro / Convection Oven from several years ago. It's not. Installation is requiring an electrician to add a 220 v connection. The store from which we purchased this failed to do their due diligence to insure compatibility. They lacked the basic knowledge to compare the spec sheets from our previous KitchenAid to the new one. After 3 weeks we still have not had a working micro.

Popcorn does not cook work well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a new Shea Home, in Encanterra. This was an upgrade option. We'd had Kitchen aid's before and were happy. This one though, and it may be minor, does not make popcorn well at all. Tried t
he popcorn setting and it only popped half the bag. Then tried the 100% power, which would take exactly two minutes. This one hasn't popped after 5 minutes. All other functions work well, warming, cooking other food at 100% power. Will contact technician to see if there is a fix. I checked internet, and it seems this is a ongoing problem. Too bad as I like Kitchen Aid as a whole. Stove and range work great.

Poor design with safety concerns

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The height as it was installed and the way the door opens(downward) makes it safety concern. When removing hot foods you have to reach over the door, which is not user friendly and could be dangerous. No owners manual with this unit, which is also an oven. This Microwave was part of an appliance package we received during our new house build. We didn't realize the microwave was going to be this type (microwave, convection oven). We would have preferred a regular style microwave with a door that opens from the side.
We will most likely be replacing this appliance.
