I really like the look and feel of the Solstice. The interface works well and the resolution and touchscreen are excellent.
The one problem is the speakerphone. The person called gets an echo of their voice when the speakerphone is on. I need my speakerphone, so this was problematic. I have read that this can be fixed if the voice recognition feature is not used. I reset my phone and that seems to have taken care of the problem. I hope Samsung fixes this problem with a software upgrade, because I like their voice recognition tool. I guess for right now, you have to choose between the two.

This is my second touch screen phone, I previously had a Palm Centro but happen to enjoy the Solstice much better. The features and widgets are very cool. There is no need to go to the menu or settings section to text, use the calculator, log onto myspace/facebook etc. With the widgets its much quicker. I especially like the virtual qwerty keyboard. I enjoy everything about this phone. The only problem I have experienced is the very poor reception. The strength signal bars have always been full but in buying this phone I notice it only has 1, 2, or 3 bars. I haven't experienced any dropped calls or anything like that but it would be better if they had all the bars like most other phones. In short, still love this phone.

If you are looking for a durable phone this is the one for you! I dropped the phone in my yard and didn't realize it until a few hours later. When I starting searching for it, we found the back casing in the yard a littled chewed on. We realized that our lab must have gotten the phone. We began calling my number and to my surprise could hear it ringing. We finally located the area of the ringing only to find that the dog must have buried it. So we started digging and finally found it...and it still works perfectly!! We took it apart and cleaned off the slobber and dirt and it's perfectly fine. It's not as pretty as it used to be, but I can live with that. This phone has been dropped, chewed on and buried and still works great!!

This phone is only my second phone, so be aware. I bought this phone practically for free because my two-year plan lets me get another every two years. I am very happy with the camera quality and video quality although you may need to be up close and in a bright area. I take many videos but I really need to buy a USB for the ability to send videos to my computer. One thing about the design that I hate is the lock button. I mean, I love the idea of a lock button to not respond to any accidental pushing of the screen or anything, but it is very easy to become unlocked and I have butt-texted and butt-dialed once too many times. If it's in a place other than my pocket, though, such as my backpack or purse, it's a safe lock. I love the games on the phone and if you delete the ones you don't want, it frees up more memory. I deleted practically half of the things the phone came with and cleared up most of my memory. But you can't get rid of the wallpapers the phone goes to on locked. Once locked, there are various flower pictures and pretty photos but you can't delete them or change them. So that kind of takes up memory. The keyboard in my opinion takes some getting used to, but after I had it for like a week I got it down. I would NOT recommend this to someone who likes getting their nails done nice and long or who has chubby fingers because the buttons are very small. Another thing is that on the keyboard (I like to turn it and go to a full QWERTY keyboard) the OK button is right next to the backspace button. Twice, I attempted to press backspace but ended up pressing OK and then SEND. So I sent half messages a lot during my first week with the phone. The emoticons and special characters it has are pretty cool and so are the tools it has. Overall however, I love the quality for the things I do use with this phone like pictures, messaging, games, and the call quality is good. Also the widgets on the front screen are pretty cool. I have a time one and a create-a-message one. I really do love my phone because it's a good purchase for the quality.

One glitch, but otherwise great!

So I've had this phone for about a month now and I absolutely LOVE it! Only I noticed that when we went ahead an hour for daylight savings time that everything I had entered into my calendar had also been bumped forward an hour. Luckily I noticed it quick and it didn't screw me up schedule-wise. Besides that the only other thing I wish it had was Gmail on it's mobile email feature. The touch screen keyboard is great (something I was really skeptical of getting in the first place), the sound quality is really good for both ends, and it loads the web pretty quickly as long as you're getting good reception. I haven't used the music player at all, and I haven't used the camera very much, though any pictures I have taken turned out way better than the ones I used to take on my Blackberry Cuirve.

This Samsung Solstice is the most amazing phone I have ever had. For someone who takes a literal half hour to compose send a text message this phone has helped me to get them done faster. I just compose, turn the phone sideways, type and send.
The only problem I have with the phone is the volume. I have a hard time hearing my callers when I put the phone on speakerphone, otherwise no problems at all.

I got this phone for Christmas after about to months of experiencing with some "loner" phones. I uses 3 different phones before getting this one and the Solstice is by far the best one. The touch-screen is great. I think this phone is just as good (Better in my opinion) than the iPhone. it has great speed, and it is easy to text on. I LOVE it!
