This thing works great, I bought it for smoothies and to try to replace my broken old school mixer. I have used the whisking attachment the most after the blender. I did use the masher and it worked but does add quite a bit to clean up. The only cons I can think of; one it is large and two the having to use two hands to get it started is a pain.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very powerful. The first time I used it, I didn't have the lid on the bowl properly and it busted the bowl to the point of tearing the spindle out of the bottom. Make sure the blade is properly seated and the lid properly attached.
