A wonderful breeze

I bought this a few months ago through the Vornado website, and this 723DC has proved to be a solid machine and a great choice. The 10-year warranty prove the confidence Vornado has in this graceful and effective work of art. The mid-cord DC power block is somewhat annoying, but I'm sure there are logical engineering reasons for its placement.
I LOVE the variable speed adjustment - my fans with three-speed options have always seemed so limiting and less effective.
Vornado makes cleaning the fan blades super-easy. My other fans required releasing cheap plastic clips (I was always afraid of breaking them) or time-consuming screw disassembly. There are only THREE sturdy clips holding the front grill on, allowing easy blade access for a quick cleaning. It's just another thing that shows their design being considerate of the consumer. Also, I like how I can position the 723DC upward to circulate and distribute the air through the room however I want.
The Vornado energy efficient DC models will be an easy choice next time I need one!

I purchased the large room vornado to replace a medium room one that finally went kaput after 15 years.
I was a bit worried because newer models of anything tend to be cheaper.
However, this newer model is amazing. It’s whisper quiet and even lighter than the medium one. I’ve been running it almost 24/7 since day one and look forward to many years of enjoyed use.

Perfect for our two story older home!

After calling & speaking to someone at the factory, I purchased this fan to move air up through the stairway of our two story 1900 Victorian house. The vent is at the bottom on the first floor, so we positioned the fan on top of the vent, and pointed upwards. After over a year of almost 24/7 use, this fan has REALLY made a difference in the temp on our second floor, and gives a major boost to our central air. I'd say this fan is a very effective solution when you're deciding if you want to move to a two-zone HVAC system. It's also easy to vacuum to keep it running smoothly, because well, old houses. :)

They are so effective that dust, & fur will build up relatively quickly in a "Pet(s) Home". However, cleaning is quick, & easy due to smart design.

A Superb Fan

This fan is so quiet you won't even know it's on until you stand in front of it. It has a great stand which gives it good stability. I love the adjustable fan control....you can run is slow or fast in grades! I would purchase this fan again.

I purchased this fan 20 years ago and it is still running perfectly! It has been used every single day for 20 years - when it's cooler -I just turn it away and keep it on to drown out my teenagers voices while I sleep - definitely one of the best purchases ever - I can't believe how good it still runs!! Amazing!

I gave it 3 stars because I expected a higher quality product. i'm not sure if i want to keep the fan, the non-linear power/fan control is hard to adjust, with the highest speeds and the grinding whistling noise i dont like using high speed, all my other vornadosvare usually on med or high to move air when a/c isnt running. I'm surprised nobody has complained about the barefoot hazard, always in the way, hot to toich power brick. Vornado, I dont mind the brick, until i trip on it, stub my toe, have it dangling from the kitchen outlet. why on earth didnt you use a shorter ac to brick cord and a 10ft low voltage to fan cord? if that cord was about twice as long, i could get over the biggest issue i have with the fan. it moves air, but on high, it's makes an annoying whining sound, sounds like bad bearings, but its brushless. so, if you dont move the fan much, dont mind a pretty warm power adapter trip hazard, and are ok not using max speed this is an ok fan. i might get a model 733 instead though, for the price difference i dont see anything to justify it. I like vornado, made or assembled in USA products go to front of the line, but they need to be American Quality. i think they need to try again, if the fan power plug is typical 12V dc or similar, i'll make an extension cord so i dont trip on that sharp edged brick that lacks an led light. also, for floor fans, a glow in the dark decal or thin strip around then fan bezel would be super helpful. i use glow in the dark tape on all my floor fans, they get moved around a lot and black floor fan, dark room, bare feet, more trips or stubbed toes than i can remember.

Along with all the good things that are said about this fan; small for the amount of air it moves, infinitely variable fan speeds, energy efficient, ... etc. My intention is to use the fan as a house fan to over nite cool the house without using the air conditioner. It looks like it will work really well for that. CON: Bad news at the low fan setting the motor makes way to much noise. Being a DC Brush less motor you can hear the motor getting a power pulse. The frequency of the noise from the fan increases with fan speed. This sounds to me like the motor controller uses some kind of Pulse Width Modulation which is known to make motors noisy. Not only does this motor make audible noise it also makes AM radio noise. Vornado engineers need to go back to school on motor circuit design Recommendations yes with caveats, motor is noisy not recommended for quiet rooms - bedrooms... etc, the fan makes AM radio not to be used near AM radios especially if you are trying to pull in weak stations. I also have a Vornado 660 only four speeds but on low it's silent. This fan was my first Vornado and I really like it. But wanted better speed selection
