723DC Energy Smart Large Air Circulator

Bought the 723DC Energy Smart Large Air Circulator in late May 2021 to use in the living room. It does an excellent job of circulating air. The variable speed control is effective in keeping the room cool. I also have the 623DC Energy Smart Medium Air Circulator for my bedroom. Vornados are reliable and do what they are advertised to do. They are also much better than a ceiling fan. I would not buy any other brand of fan.

Sturdy. Love the adjustable dial. We sit it at the top of our stairs to circulate the air. Helps the whole area feel cool so the AC doesn't have to be set as low.

Just like the one I had and loved 25 years ago!

This is just like the one I had 25 years ago and loved! It’s got the variable speed knob. Best feature ever on a fan. Super quiet and still puts out all the air. I can’t stand the 3 set speeds and was so happy they finally brought the variable speed back. Hoping it lasts for as many years as the old ones did. My old ones lasted 20 years with almost daily use! Love Vornado and willing to spend the extra money for quality and better features.

Seems Durable, Loud, Motor Vibrates or Resonates

At this price you expect a refined product. The motor which is the selling point of this unit has problems. Returned and received another with the same problem. Noisy vibrating motor. Only happens at my favorite speeds. Low/medium and higher speeds. Very disappointed. At higher speeds the motor noise is drowned out by the noise from the fan blades but you can still hear it and feel it on the motor housing in the back. At lower speeds, like when you are sleeping I hate the audible resonance from the motor. I have to run it either slower than desired or higher when sleeping. All in all a quality product but the motor is a significant issue. Maybe some work to the brushless motor controller can smooth out the resonance from the motor. I thought Vornado fans were supposed to be quieter than other fans too, but that seems dependent on which model you get. The 660 Circulator is the best.... quiet, smooth raw power. Perfect from low through high speeds for that model (4 speed). Plus the 660 circulator funnels the air in a tighter column of air compared to this 723dc brushless fan I'm reviewing.
Pros: Durable, Good Power Output
Cons: Fan Blades Noisy, Loud, Motor Vibrates And Noisy
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Mixed bag, compact, powerful, noisy on low speed.

Along with all the good things that are said about this fan; small for the amount of air it moves, infinitely variable fan speeds, energy efficient, ... etc. My intention is to use the fan as a house fan to over nite cool the house without using the air conditioner. It looks like it will work really well for that. CON: Bad news at the low fan setting the motor makes way to much noise. Being a DC Brush less motor you can hear the motor getting a power pulse. The frequency of the noise from the fan increases with fan speed. This sounds to me like the motor controller uses some kind of Pulse Width Modulation which is known to make motors noisy. Not only does this motor make audible noise it also makes AM radio noise. Vornado engineers need to go back to school on motor circuit design Recommendations yes with caveats, motor is noisy not recommended for quiet rooms - bedrooms... etc, the fan makes AM radio not to be used near AM radios especially if you are trying to pull in weak stations. I also have a Vornado 660 only four speeds but on low it's silent. This fan was my first Vornado and I really like it. But wanted better speed selection
Pros: Adjustable, Compact, Good Power Output
Cons: Loud

Very happy with purchase

This fan circulates the air gently but, it seems, efficiently in the 16' x 14' room in which it is used. It is surprisingly quiet except at the highest settings. I have had many fans in this room over the years, but this one is the most satisfactory. The only drawback I have encountered is that grill is very difficult to remove for cleaning, but hopefully this will become easier with practice.
Pros: Adjustable, Attracts Less Dirt, Lightweight, Quiet, Stable Base
Cons: Difficult To Remove Grill

Expected more @ this price it's ok, but has subjective flaws

I gave it 3 stars because I expected a higher quality product. i'm not sure if i want to keep the fan, the non-linear power/fan control is hard to adjust, with the highest speeds and the grinding whistling noise i dont like using high speed, all my other vornadosvare usually on med or high to move air when a/c isnt running. I'm surprised nobody has complained about the barefoot hazard, always in the way, hot to toich power brick. Vornado, I dont mind the brick, until i trip on it, stub my toe, have it dangling from the kitchen outlet. why on earth didnt you use a shorter ac to brick cord and a 10ft low voltage to fan cord? if that cord was about twice as long, i could get over the biggest issue i have with the fan. it moves air, but on high, it's makes an annoying whining sound, sounds like bad bearings, but its brushless. so, if you dont move the fan much, dont mind a pretty warm power adapter trip hazard, and are ok not using max speed this is an ok fan. i might get a model 733 instead though, for the price difference i dont see anything to justify it. I like vornado, made or assembled in USA products go to front of the line, but they need to be American Quality. i think they need to try again, if the fan power plug is typical 12V dc or similar, i'll make an extension cord so i dont trip on that sharp edged brick that lacks an led light. also, for floor fans, a glow in the dark decal or thin strip around then fan bezel would be super helpful. i use glow in the dark tape on all my floor fans, they get moved around a lot and black floor fan, dark room, bare feet, more trips or stubbed toes than i can remember.
Pros: Adjustable, Compact, Good Power Output, Stable Base
Cons: ExternalPowerBrick, Loud

Excellent FAN!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is by far the best fan I've ever had! It is unobtrusive, fits into smaller spaces, and really packs a powerful punch. It is whisper quiet. Sometimes I've forgotten to turn it off when on low speed, which, by the way is variable! You can turn the fan on and then it works like a dimmer switch--completely variable all the way from a gentle breeze to hurricane force. Of course, at top speed you can hear the wind it puts out, but the motor remains quiet. I live in Florida and work at home so I need a quiet fan. Until now I had yet to find one. Ceiling fans just don't cut it when it comes to cooling. This little guy pulls the cool air from the floor which is so much more productive than a ceiling fan.
Pros: Adjustable, Compact, Durable, Good Power Output, Lightweight, Quiet, Stable Base
