The first safe had two rips in the front that I was not sure if would affect the fire protection. Took the first one back. The second is in excellent condition. Sentry Safe needs better quality control. With a bit of maneuvering I was able to place everything I needed to place in safe that I need access easily - backup HD, 14 USB drives, 4 DVDs in jewel cases and some documents. I am happy with the safe because it meets my needs. If I need theft protection for the safe, I will need to hide in another locked area as the safe is easy to pick up and steal, and looks like a safe on the shelf - Sentry safe name on the front and top of safe.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Having read the manual, I don't know anymore if I should use it to store my passport and hard drive. It says there that will be moisture inside that could be damaging. That defeats the purpose. I bought the safe to protect my important items. So yes, it will protect them from fire but ruin them with moisture? So weird. Also, a white chalky substance keeps falling out of the lid. That will ruin my things too. Finally, when it's locked, there's a little give when I pull on the lid. Why??? :(

I bought this safe to protect my hard drives and according to the description, it should do a great job. Because of the moisture content of the firewalls, I will put them in ziplock bags first as suggested by the instructions. The safe was reasonably priced, too. The only thing I didn’t care for was how dirty and messy the outside was when I took it out of the box. I cleaned it with Clorox wipes but it still looks dirty.

The safe can be picked very easy I used a small pocket knife. No problem. I would like to feel no one could get onside w/o key but yes anyone can pick the lock.
