Loving my new dishwasher...

This model was supplied to me (free!) by my home warranty company. It replaced a 2005 model from another manufacturer that hadn't stopped leaking since I moved in. I thought I might dislike having the controls -- all digital -- on the top edge of the door, rather than the front. I was also worried that kids (or grownups) might randomly pull the door open without a manual latch. Neither has been an issue, and performance-wise, the Dishwasher with SoilSense Cycle beats my mom's new high-end German model easily. I wish the dishwasher left things just a little bit dryer, but a quick dab with a dish towel or a few hours sitting open leaves everything fully dried and sparking clean. This is the best dishwasher I've ever used, and I'm glad we got it.

I have no need of thoroughly rinsing my dishes before loading in this dishwasher. It cleans and sanitizes very well. I will definitely buy another Amana when the time arises I am quite satisfied

The right detergent makes all the difference!

I tried using up some Finish dish detergent. The product left a sour soap smell in the dishwasher. I then used the Platinum Cascade and all the smell is gone. Bottom line-- follow the manufacturers suggestion and you will be happy with the performance of your dishwasher.
