I bought this freezer a month ago and it was up and running in less than an hour.The next day I loaded it with meat, fruit and veggies, and within 2 hours, everything was frozen. This is just the right size for the basics I need each month and then some. I live in a one bedroom Condo and it fits just fine. Thank you Amana !!

I bought this Amana 7.0 cubic foot freezer 3 weeks ago. I think it works really great, but I can not get the lid open without the aid of a putty knife to break the vacuum seal that it produces. I am sure that no cold air escapes. I wonder if this is normal.

I bought this freezer the 24th of October and am so pleased with it. It holds more than I thought it would. Love the lights to show that it is on and when the compressor is running. Model and Serial Number are easy to find. Certainly is an improvement over my previous freezer.

I bought this for extra storage and as a backup in case my refridgerator went out. I was able to bring it home with me as it fit nicely in my mid-size SUV with seats folded down. It was easy to set up and got to a freezing temp in just a few hours. It is so quiet that you cannot even tell it is running. No problems so far after having it for 3 months.

Gets cold fast, but top difficult to open

I have an Amana Side by Side refrigerator, which is great, so that is why I bought an Amana 7 cu freezer, model AQC0701DRW. it does get cold very fast, but the chest top only opens up once every 3-5 minutes or so, this is very annoying, if you remove something and want to put the rest back you can't until a few minutes later.
Another reviewer has the same issue.
I wish Amana covered this in the manual. That's why I can't recommend this model.

We have been very happy that we purchased the Amana Compact Freezer! I enjoy he elbow room and the removable basket. I was surprised about how the door snaps up to the fully open position. I make sure I hang on to it so it does not hit the picture on my wall behind it. Our food has kept cold and I have seen no difference in my electric bill. I had parted with a smaller chest freezer to get this larger model.
