We bought this for holding all my frozen groceries because my kitchen freezer is extremely small. I was worried about the energy draw, weight and space required to put this in my basement. I have been pleasantly surprised over it all! My husband was able to get it to the basement with no problem at all. It fits perfectly at the bottom of my staircase without cutting into the walkway. I never know when it is running..even when my washer &/or dryer are running at same time! I love having the little shelf on the right side and the basket inside that can be slid from side to side also! This helps keep things in an order for me inside the freezer. People told me if I bought a chest freezer that things "get lost" inside of them- but with these two features I have not found that to be an issue at all! I also have not had any issues with frost building up within the freezer either- which I was very worried about. Over all I love having my chest freezer and would highly recommend it to others!

When I first placed my order for my new freezer I was a little hesitant as I could not envision how much storage capacity it would have. I have to tell you This freezer has plenty of storage capacity for a family of 4 and I'm a retired bachelor. It is working out great and saving me a ton of money. I can purchase several loaves of bread at a time and meat in family packs which is always a savings.
Buying in larger quantities not only saves me money initially but it saves on trips to the store as well.
A bonus is how quiet it is. I have mine in the guest bedroom & I never hear ti running. If there is a downside it is that this freezer is not frost free and I can see probably having to defrost it each spring. I will just invite one of my daughters over for a Bar b que and we can have a defrost party....LOL
I'm very happy I decided to get this little jewel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed a 7.0 cf chest freezer to store 1/4 of butchered beef. Among the different brands I considered, I chose Amana. It was the right choice. I can keep it in the garage, no problems with the lid seal, it has levelers, and after a month +, I have no complaints. It was delivered quickly, well-packaged, and set up. Once I turned it on, the freezer quickly reached the temperature I wanted and has maintained that temperature without fault. Perfect size for the beef with a little room to spare. Among the best prices, too!
I can't imagine why anyone would choose one of its competitors. This was a great buy for me!
