After reading the reviews, and my past experience with Amana products, I made the decision to purchase only an Amana chest freezer.
We considered purchasing it on-line, but decided to pay a few dollars more and purchase it locally from an appliance dealer. (we are very satisfied with that decision also !)

We purchased this several weeks ago and could not be happier. Extremely quiet. Great seal on door. No frost or ice build up at all. Already have 100 pounds of meat in it and all is great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My old freezer was worn out. I had to crank it up all the way just to keep it below freezing, and I had a good amount of venison in it that I didn't want to lose. I bought this Amana freezer and brought it home, set it up, leveled it, and after letting it sit a while to let it settle, I plugged it in and in about three hours it was 8 below zero F. I put about half of my food in it, waited a couple of hours, and put the rest of my food in it. A couple of hours later it was at 8 below zero again. Setting it up was easy, I'm really happy with this purchase. A great freezer!
