I was excited when I purchased this television as it was at a good price point and had many features I liked. I got the first 6500 home and set it up and even during the day I could see clouding and flash lighting on the screen when the background was black. Movies such as Star Trek and Star Wars, where there are a lot of blacks, make it easy to see these issues and I could not enjoy the movies with these problems on the display.
I took the 6500 back and decided to try another thinking it may have been a problem with just that one television. I got the second one home, unboxed it and I could not see the clouding or flash lighting, initially. As day turned to night it became more obvious this TV had the same problems although not as bad as the first TV.
The 3D worked great on both 6500's and the picture appeared sharper then on a passive 3D display, but even in 3D the same issues could be seen. I took the second 6500 back and am going to get away from the edge lit LED's and I am going to try the backlit EH6030. I will lose the Smart TV functionality, but I hope to gain better picture quality.
Pros: great features
Cons: edge lit, clouding, flashlighting
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
