We remodeled our kitchen 4 months ago so I have had time to get to know my Jenn-Air and its pros and cons. Pros: The French door styling is very efficient. The refrigerator section has a nice see-through drawer across the entire middle in which I find it convenient to store cheese and eggs The veggie and fruit bins are also see-through and keep produce nicely. There is plenty of storage on the doors for milk, orange juice, etc. plus all the condiments. The remaining shelving can be easily rearranged to suit my needs for either tall or short items. I added a lazy Susan on one side that has made it easier to see containers I store on it. The freezer section is divided into 3 sections and each holds plenty. I don't buy many packaged foods but I do freeze veggies from the summer in plastic bags. I'm finding the bottom drawers hold many bags. There is a scoop for the ice cube maker that is fun and sanitary to use. I have noted 3 cons: the left-side door of the refrigerator has to be carefully closed or else it doesn't shut all the way. There is an alarm to tell you the door is open but it isn't very loud and doesn't always sound. My second con is the water dispenser inside the fridge section. The water comes out very slowly. I don't know if this applies to the dispensers on the outside of the door. The 3rd con is the cabinet door panels. We purchased them through our cabinet company and they look beautiful but they were not easy to install. Luckily we had an experienced carpenter who was able to figure something out. We had to use longer screws on the freezer section because it is large and heavy when full. I have one other observation. I was under the impression that counter-depth meant the fridge won't stick out past the counter top. It does by about 6 inches. It does mean the doors will fully open on both sides without bumping against the counters.
I purchased this for my new construction home and love it!! It was a hit on the Parade of homes tour as so many people told me that they loved the sleek glass look !!
We've had our refrigerator for a few weeks and it's been stellar. Our power use is down already, and the interior layout is terrific. Kinds of food that we used to have to throw away after a week are lasting 2-3. All in all, a great purchase.
Had a Sub-zero built in for 20 years and loved the look. The new built-in refrigerators were out of our price range so we opted for a counter depth Jennair. Couldn't be happier with the look and the French door style. Able to get wide items in as opposed to the side by side and really didn't lose much interior space over the Subzero. A perfect replacement for us.
When building our house we had a lot of options in choosing kitchen appliances. Both my wife and I like to cook so we wanted products commensurate with the amount of time we spend in the kitchen. The gas cooktop, french door refrigerator, microwave, oven and dishwasher fit our needs perfectly. We could not be more pleased with the performance and design of the package.
Beautiful. Floating Black Glass is amazing. Design permits a "built in" look. Layout and adjustable shelves permit easy access to items. Bottom drawer freezer shelves/drawers provide more versatile storage than many. High end look and performance at reasonable price. Very cold. Only slight annoyance (must train yourself) is, as with many French Door designs, you must always close the left door before the right in order for the doors to seal properly.
Pros: Attractive Design, Holds Temperature Well, Easy Access, Customizable Shelving, Quiet, Space For Tall Items
Cons: French Door, must always close left door first
We were looking for a French Door, Counter Depth, Black Finish Refrigerator. There are many to look at from various vendors. The quality of Jennair inside components (drawers etc) was what first caught our eye. The stunning plate glass front on this black refrigerator put it in another league. The outside of this product is truly elegant and stands out in a rather subtle way. We love the look. We also love the benefits of a french door refrigerator with all of the items conveniently located and easily viewed. This is especially true of the fruit/vegetable drawers. Rather than being located at your feet (top freezer refrigerator), they are located at a nice height and easily viewed. The inside cold water spout is right where we would have wanted it. It works well while not taking away from the clean look of the outside front door. The bottom freezer is well thought out and well lighted. The ice maker is excellent and I like the use of a magnet to connect the ice bin to the front drawer. We are so pleased that we made this purchase.
Pros: Customizable Shelving, Attractive Design, Quiet, Holds Temperature Well, Space For Tall Items, Easy Access, Energy Efficient
Modernized our kitchen with Jenn Air oven and refrigerator. Very happy with both units. Since we've only been using these products for a month long term efficiency is unknown but the refrigerator and freezer compartments are designed well and we've not had any issues with the internal water dispenser (which works great) and the ice maker. Overall a very good choice for a smaller family. Because this unit is counter depth the purchaser needs to be aware of the reduction in the depth of the shelves.
Pros: Energy Efficient, Attractive Design, Space For Tall Items, Quiet, Customizable Shelving, Easy Access, Holds Temperature Well
