This is a wonderful product.. it does what it was built to do.. and it does it very quickly and with no issues.. will difinitly buy philips products again..i have a philips stereo i bought in 1999 and it still works as good today as the day i first plugged iy in and used it the first time.. LOVE PHILIPS PRODUCTS..

I am writing this to let other potential customers know about the Philips Norelco Detail Trimmer Series 1000. I received a free sample of one to try out. I have been using one for the past three weeks and I find it very useful. I typically shave with a disposable razor and call it good, but not now. I have found that the series 1000 allows you to really fine tune your facial hair, leaving you a much more professional look. The small size of the series 1000 allows you to get to all the areas on your face and around your ears to leave you a clean finish. Although this one cost me nothing I will not hesitate to purchase another in the future. One negative I found is that I wish the attachment could some how fit under the cap once it is out of the package. It is a small item that you do not want to lose

Snagged my nose hair a lot the first time, but did the job.
Second time I used it (it was not used for anything else) snagged the nose hair and would not cut.
Returning it as I bought Wahl. The Wahl did the job in just a few minutes. I would not recommend this product at all.
Cons: constantly snagged nose hair

Very easy to use whenever you need a touch up or to remove more hair from your chin and face. I use it at least three times a week befor I apply makeup. The small size is convenient for travel. It is always in my cosmetic bag.

I normally don't use these small trimmers on my facial hair but it worked well. The trimmer function is ideal. The only thing I didn't like was that it was SO small... I kinda wish it was more substantial in size.

Overall, I liked this Philips Norelco detail trimmer but found that there aren`t too many uses for it. I should mention that I was sent a free sample of this product in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. The trimmer takes batteries that are not included. I used the trimmer to trim my nose hair. I really like the feature that allowed the trimmer to bend at multiple angles so that I could get in the hard to reach spots. The trimmer comes with a cap for the end with the blade which is a huge plus for me because I have kids. The trimmer is very light weight which is nice for traveling. Overall, I was happy with the product and would recommend it to anyone looking for a nose trimmer.
Pros: great design
Cons: not many uses

A great secondary

To start the review off, I would like to disclose that I did receive a free sample of this product to write this review. I will separate this review into two parts. First, the good. The trimmer is one of the smallest trimmers I have ever seen. It is extremely compact and would make an excellent travel companion based on size alone. Second, it is extremely easy to put together and use. From a convenience perspective, this trimmer gets an A+.
A couple of the bad things. I could not seem to get a close shave with the product. I am still trying to figure out whether that's design or purely user error. I do not have an extremely complex beard so for a user such as myself, it is typically easier to wet shave (with a blade razor) the areas I want clean shaven and use a full size trimmer for the rest. There were separate guards for varying lengths, but I did not find them to be very effective.
Overall I would not recommend this trimmer to be your primary. If anything this trimmer is great for complex details after the majority of the shave work has already been done. If you are a constant traveler or one with a complex beard, this may be the product for you but you can generally find better products on the market (these 'better' products will be at a larger size however).
Pros: size/convenience
Cons: couldn't seem to get a close shave
