Horrible

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have bought 2 of these since Jan. This year and after 3 months of this picture distorts unplugging the HDMI Cable didn't work, an NEW HDMI cable didn't change a thing. unplugging it from the power supply did nothing to it.... now i have 2 useless players and movies I can't watch because it won't work
Pros: Style/Design, Performance, Quality, easy to use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I'd give it zero stars if I could, I've never considered something a waste of money as much as this, it does not stream and there's no problem with my connection because every other device I have streams fine, it's this garbage machine

Pros: Quality, easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have two of these. Only because my dad saw me using the first one for streaming and found another on sale. It. Is. The. Worst. When it is playing video it works great. But the trouble is getting there. Very frequently when you turn it on it will freeze after every button you push. Causing you to take 10-15 minutes or longer just to start a video.
Then other times it will stream perfectly but you can't pause or stop the video to leave the room. I have been trying to turn one of mine off for about 30 minutes now. It won't respond to the power button. It blinks so you know it's receiving the input. It just won't do anything. I got on the computer after pushing it a few times. Pretty sure I'm going to have to unplug it to turn it off. I've been using these for months. Wanted it to stop streaming from my expensive gaming systems. It works well enough for that but you're better off buying something else.
Side note. I really wish it had Crunchyroll and Funimation. I usually have those, Netflix, HBO, Hulu, and Amazon Prime at different points in the year.

Worst product I've ever spent money on

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is the first thing I've ever reviewed because I am so frustrated with it I felt that it deserved it. This thing does not stream 90% of the time. It freezes and then you can't even reset it without unplugging the cord. I have to spend 20 minutes a night just to get something to stream on this thing. It's not my internet because I just go use some other product after this one fails and it works fine, it's this terrible product that has the problem. Do not buy this.

Same freezing problem as everyone else

I bought this product for the streaming capabilities and the low price. I am unhappy with it because it stops responding and only way to turn it off is by unplugging the power cord from the back. Then powering it back on loading the streaming service again and finding what you were watching all over again. I have done this over 50 times, finally after smashing the remote I will be tossing the whole system and just getting a streaming smart TV.
Pros: Style/Design

Freezes like everyone else! It’s junk

Got this as a Christmas present, plugged it in and it froze in Netflix like everyone else. At the time I hadn’t checked reviews bc it was a gift so checked all my other devices and nothing else was having issues, to be safe I even added more internet speed thinking maybe it might help! NOPE! So I returned it and had Bestbuy order a new one. Just got the new one today plugged it up and same thing!! Froze in the introduction song of the first cartoon I tried started. This is pure junk!

Great Versatility

I was looking for a DVD-player which combines optical/coaxial connection + MKV playback + DTS capability, without the absolutely need for transmitting the audio through the only HDMI. From legacy amplifiers, which doens't support any HDMI cables, it's an obstacle course. Finally, I decided to buy this product yesterday. Once plugged, you'll be able to play Music, Movie in any kind of file formats. Without any online updates. Every movies in MKV DTS - my main concern - runs like a charm. From my great surprise, among my 3 other DVD drives, this LG DVD-drive is the only device to play my very old DVD collections, some of them very scratchy... Also, the finition is not bad at all. Even the remote control gives you this high-end item feeling in hands. Lg delivered a great product here.
