I would expect better quality

I have been using this fan in my enclosed sunroom for almost 1.5 years. By now, one blade is delaminating and all rubber grommets under blade's mounting screws developed micro cracks. For a fan that is listed for outdoor use that is unacceptable short time to degrade so fast.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Parts are hard to find

Better Globe Options & Lighting Should Be Standard

The electrical system for lights only accommodates up to 2, 14 watt bulbs. There are some awesome 15 watt (100 watt-equivalent) LED bulbs on the market for better light, but they simply won't work with this fan. Just a couple of years ago, every fan with a light could handle 3 or more 40 to 60 watt bulbs, but I suppose the cost-cutting saves Hunter. The standard globe that it comes with does not diffuse the light very well; the outlines of the bulbs are very clear—there are much better options, even from Hunter, and it's a shame that one or more is not available as a factory option. I purchased a total of 4 fans from Hunter and this model's fan blade rubber grommets were the most oxidized, each having a whitish bloom as evidence of premature age. Hope it holds up.
