Quiet effective cleaning, simple controls

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I looked at a LOT of washer brands and models before selecting this GDWT308VBB. The GE model line appealed to me because they have built in food grinders, are domestically assembled and my previous dishwasher was also a GE which still worked great but was a basic model from 10 years ago.
I saw some other models with 3 or 4 lower decibel level claims and was concerned that maybe this new washer wouldn't be quiet enough. As soon as I ran my first load of dishes at night I knew I had nothing to worry about. This dishwasher is VERY quiet. It isn't 'silent' but even in my 1 room loft where my couch is about 8 feet from the dishwasher, it is so quiet that it is masked by normal background noise or even a quiet television.
Compared to other dishwashers I looked at, I thought the racks on the GE models slid in and out more precisely and easily than some others. The controls are very straight forward. This is not a dishwasher that connects to the internet or has an LCD display or other exotic features. It is quiet, it cleans well, it heats water and has the option of a heated dry and has an adjustable rinse aid dispenser. As best as I can tell from GE's own website, the only features that more expensive models have are special use cycles, more adjustable dish racks, a detergent dispenser and a few decibel quieter operation. This model has all the cleaning technology, the dirt sensor, the water heater, the food grinder, the 5 level filtration etc that really matter to me.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the deep tray. All the function worked find and it cleans dishes. There is no option I could find to stop the cycle and drain. So you would need to finish a cycle when you want to cancel and stop. If someone knows how to stop and drain, please post.

Never should have purchased this GE model!!

I listened to the sales lady and she was wrong. The dishwasher with the 2 wash arms is a very bad choice as the dishes DO NOT get clean nor do they rinse well. The other issue is: the water into the dishwasher MUST be at 120-degrees F mine was at 109 which caused me to need a new water heater. OK after the new water heater was installed & water is now 20-degrees F it's not the water temp....it's the design of 2-spray arms. If you are getting a GE-Brand you need 3 or more spray arms or a design that cleans items that you place flat on the bottom rack.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
