Very happy with this range!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My first smooth top range and I'm very happy with how easy it is to keep the burners clean, as well as the ability to turn down the heat for a controlled simmer. Also impressed with how evenly the convection oven bakes. And the light-colored smooth top is uniquely attractive amongst the sea of black-top ranges--so glad this excellent appliance was available in bisque to match my kitchen.

I purchased this GE range as a replacement for a 16 yr old GE profile glass top range, which just needed to be updated. I find the element speed, such as the two element power boil, as well as the three ring larger cooking circle to be a great improvement over the prior model. I am thrilled to have the warming drawer, as well as the new warming element on top. We like to entertain, and this comes in very handy. My old range also had a convection oven, which I found difficult to use due to conversion. This one makes it easy, with a conversion feature, and I love the more even heat that comes with convection baking. Overall, a great value and a great update for my kitchen. The only downfall is the gap (which is needed for the venting of the oven element), between the oven door and the warming drawer. Wish another solution would be possible. Still love the range.

Very poor performance

Had this range for 6 mos. Very disappointed . Takes too long to preheat. The white top has to be cleaned each time it's used with a cleaner. Oven was too hot. Had it adjusted by a service tech. Still too hot. This will be my last GE appliance purchase.

Daily cooktop cleaning required.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I can find no pot or pan that does not leave a mark on the stovetop. I buffed and sanded our old stuff to a high sheen and then we bought $150 of new Stainless pans. Everything leaves a mark, so unless you plan on scrubbing the stovetop every evening, take a pass on a white/beige cooktop. Tired of this already and it has not been a month yet.
My wife is still trying to learn where to set the dials to cook. She cannot find any setting that "simmers". Even the "melt" setting boils water. Hopefully she can resolve this problem.

Although cooking on the smooth top was a learning experience in the beginning, we really like it. Plus, it makes me keep the cooktop super clean.
