Easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The stove top and oven work great. The controls are easy to use and the stove top is easy to clean. Read the directions before you use it for the first time so you won’t unintentionally damage it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I am very satisfied with this range

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking for a reasonably priced smoothtop range and a friend recommended this one. It is my first smoothtop and I love it! It is very easy to clean, looks great and I love the duel sized front burner for extra large pots such as my canning kettle. The only precautions are to not use cast iron pans and never boil over a sugar syrup onto the cooktop--easy enough!

This product has one small flaw......

I purchased this range to replace a 1999 model that suffered a severe crack across the ceramic cooktop. It was difficult ordering a bisque color, as it seems stainless and/or black appliances are all the rage now. I am very unhappy as to how long it takes for the oven to pre-heat vs. my older model. The old oven took about three minutes to come to temperature, while the new one takes almost ten full minutes due to its hidden heating element. I have owned this range for almost six months now, and I still don't know how to operate the oven controls without difficulty. So far, the only plus is that this model is easier to keep clean.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just got this installed. So far, works great. It's a little bit of an adjustment to cook on a flat surface, but I love the look! I've cooked a few things so far and it cooks much better than my previous stove. Am looking forward to baking!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have only used less than 1 month and have found everything from the oven, broiler and cooking on the burners, to cleaning up the smooth top to be a joy. We use Weimans smooth top cleaner and love it. The top always looks brand new and the storage drawer is exactly what we needed since we lack storage space. Would highly recommend for a stove with these features and an attractive price, plus it looks good

Replaced Kenmore with this Similar GE Smoothtop Range
on February 27, 2013

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I HAD to purchase this range at a very bad time in my life:
My best friend /sister died plus we had a bad storm a week before Christmas and an electrical outage/brownout put my 3- year old Kenmore oven out (in the range). So it and a lot of other electronics, and anything plugged in was damaged.
The insurance company said I could replace with as close to the same as I had, so this GE range was it.
It doesn't seem quite as insulated as my old one you would have to stand back after opening the door to let the excess heat out, or you'd burn your eyebrows off. So, I thought this one would be the same, but it doesn't seem to be. BUT: This GE has a thermostat the owners can adjust by themselves. So, maybe I need to do that? I have only had this GE for 3 weeks and have not read the owners manual as yet. (Too busy...)
It does have a deeper bottom drawer though, as my outlet, which did just lie on the floor on the back wall, now needs to be placed up further on the wall. A chore I have not gotten to as yet.
I almost got a Whirlpool as I needed to match the biscuit color of the other appliances but it did not have the "Hot Cooktop" warning light on it, so I upgraded to this GE. It does only have one main light to warn of a hot cooktop where I did like my old range which had a small red light above each dial which would only go off after it was cool to touch. So, I do miss that. And the oven light on this GE is a touch control whereas my old one had a switch to turn it on. This GE has a switch, but it is for the dual-element.
All in all, I am happy with this GE range.
I would recommend this to a friend!
