We decided to get an all-in-one computer to eliminate the wiring mess under our computer desk. We thought about a laptop, but liked a large screen. We didn't think we needed to spend extra for a touch screen since it seemed it would be awkward to use on a vertical surface.
We are very pleased with the HP Omni 120xt. The set up was easy using the Microsoft Easy Transfer software that came installed as part of Windows 7. We imported files, email and favorites from our old XP machine in less than an hour. We added a wireless keyboard and mouse and have ended up with a very clean installation.
We had difficulty getting our existing HP printer software to install on our XP machine which was set up to share a printer on the network. It installed on the new computer without a hitch and we now have full featured wireless printing, scanning and copying.
The computer fits into a cubby hole in the back of our computer desk and we noticed the fan noise made it louder than our old screen-only installation. We installed a thin piece of closed cell foam under the rear support and it is now very quiet.
We were going to wait until Windows 8 arrives, but decided that the maturity and reliability of Windows 7, along with it being common with two other computers on the network was more valuable.
Our wireless network allows us to occasionally move the computer any where we want with only a power chord needed for operation.....almost as easy as a laptop.
Most of our computing is email, Word documents, photographs and my wife's modest graphics work. This computer more than meets our needs and makes a neat classy installation. We'd buy another one.

This all-in-one was incredibly easy to set up and use. Delivery was quick, and ordering online was easy. I have had no problems with over-heating even though I live in a small condo in the South where I don't use air conditioning often. And I have had no problems connecting to my wireless printer. I haven't had this PC for very long, but I have had other HPs that I've loved. I especially like how sleek and compact it is in my small space. These are all the reasons I chose to try an all-in-one. I chose an HP specifically for its speed, features, and service. So far, it's great. My father (age 86) bought a larger version which arrived shortly before mine did. He unpacked and started it by following the included instructions. I helped him transfer files and set his preferences, but the machine is so simple that he has been able to take over with very little help from me. When he had questions about a software application, he called HP who connected him to a Microsoft rep. That's what I call good customer service. Keep up the good work, you all.

Worst Purchase Ever

The computer and the components looked great. I tried to go on the Internet, no good. It goes to the home page and no further. We spent over 7 hours with HP, Verizon and Microsoft. Nothing worked. The computer is going back to HP. Guess what? This is the 3rd one I purchased within the last 2 months. All 3 had exactly the same problem. If you purchase this computer, you're going to be disappointed. It's a 100% total waste of money. HP Corp., you better put this review on the website. I am a real customer and this is a real problem. I wasted so much time on this, returning 3 computers and hours and hours on the phone with each one. I hooked up a Dell computer, with the same configuration of Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 9, and it worked just fine. Go figure. I'm going to Dell. They know how to make computers.

the iCore3 is wonderful and makes the operation mostly seamless and effortless. there is still the occasional slow down and crashes but you can't expect perfection. i love this machine to bits except for one tiny tiny flaw...the speakers are really too basic. really. it makes the auditory experience purely functional and not at all "enjoyable". if you were to play anything more sophisticated than normal dialogue, you'd find that the lower and upper ranges of the decibels are quite sacrificed. BUT then again, you had the option to upgrade so i'm not one to ding points on this. however, now you know to upgrade if you want something more than austere for your auditory experience.

I like this product because of less cables running all over the place. wish there were atleast one or two usb connectors on the front instead of the side
