Huge design flaw, very sad.....

I was thrilled to have found something to track my swimming workouts. I got my Misfit since May of this year. When I got it, I was concerned at how unsecure the device was in the band. My concerns were confirmed when I lost it several times from everyday happenings. The dog jumping up, bumping my arm on the side of the dryer, playing ball in the pool with my family, hitting a lane line etc. Fortunately all of these times I noticed it and was able to find it, however tonight I lost it for the final time while watching my son's baseball game. I wasn't even doing anything physical at the time. I am so disappointed as I truly loved having something to track all my activity especially since swimming is a huge chunk for me, but I won't be purchasing another one due to design flaw of the flimsy strip of rubber that is suppose to keep the device in place.

I chose to get the shine over other fitness trackers because of its ability to track swimming and cycling. It does these things well, I only wish it could track distance cycled the way it can do laps and distance walked, but this I can get over. I only ever take my shine off when I am moving it to my ankle for a bike ride. It is amazing not to worry about the water and not to charge it. I got mine in December 2015 and just bought my first replacement battery last week. When I finally am ready for an upgrade, I will definitely get another misfit product!

I use my Misfit for tracking my water aerobic activity and almost never take it off. I use the AquaLogix system for pool exercises, and swim some regular laps. The device syncs easily with my Android phone and gives my a useful profile of calories burned and how close I get to my exercise goals. I have diabetes and Misfit helps me track just how active I really am. I would highly recommend it.

I absolutely love my Speedo Shine. It counts laps in a 25 yard length pool (or a 50m or 25m pool). I am tracking my sleep, and trying to get more sleep at night as a result. The combination of points for walking and swimming activity automatically uploads to my company's health & wellness website, and translates into health credits. When I earn 125 health credits in a calendar quarter, my company credits me with a $125 discount off of my health premium. So on an annual basis, the Speedo Shine delivers $500 of value to me on discounted health premiums. Other users might check their corporate wellness plan's policy to see if a similar offer exists. Overall, the Speedo Shine has been an excellent fitness tracker which I would recommend above other brands.

I have the first speedo misfit shine, and I am ok with it. The main reason I got it is swimming, and it does a fairly good job at it. If I wear it in my pocket, it even counts the laps I do with a board. The first battery it came with needed to be changed after less than three months. The new one shows a third gone after less than a month. Wasn't it supposed to be six months? I'm not entirely happy with it because it has the tendency to come off its hand-band's cradle. I had to dive to the bottom of the pool a few times to retrieve it, as well as fish it from inside my gloves, and pick it from the floor a time or two. I expect I'll be loosing it one day and never see it again. I noticed other users have some sort of a thingimagig that holds the back of the hand-band cradle from changing shape when a sleeve or a hand paddle touches it, or puts a bit of pressure on it. That is what makes the shine come off. Oh, well. It would be nice if it also showed, really showed the time, not the guessing of illuminated dots. Since it does not always ends up on the exact and only position it needs to be to guess correctly, particularly when one moves around, that time feature is useless. I also wear it for steps and sleep as well, while I am still wearing my fitbit. I've noticed that the sleep time is not reliable. Not only compared with the fitbit, but just looking at the watch and knowing when I went to sleep and when I got up. If I watch tv, or read, in a reclined position, with little movement, and then I go to sleep, it consider the time spent watching or reading as light sleep. Sure, it can be said I was resting, but sleeping? Steps are comparable, +/- few vs fitbit. I agree with other commentators, it does have a pleasant design, and I like the necklace, and the fact that it can be worn in so many positions, but nowadays, I wouldn't buy it again. My next one needs to show the time, count laps, steps, and sleep as well as looking good. So I'm looking

I got my misfit in May and I loved it! It was really cool how it would track my laps for me. I lost it twice when my hand hit the lane line at a practice but I found it both times. I never had a problem with it until I had to change the battery. The battery lasted about a month and a half. I changed it and it has been acting weird ever since. Today at cross country we were running around a soccer field and doing relays. That's when my friend noticed that it had fallen out. We went back to look for it and couldn't find it. I think you guys need to improve the band and how it holds it in. My friend has the shine 2 and she says that it keeps falling out. I may purchase the first shine only because I have 5 bands for it and I don't know what to do with them. Hopefully I find my shine first. I would recommend it to a friend but I would tell them to be careful when doing sports as it can fall out. I hope you guys figure out a way to fix it.

I like the Speedo Shine. The only reason for the 3 stars is because the battery case is extremely hard to get open, and I would like to have some other color choices in the bands.
