Had to buy it to be able to use several accessories, since laptops no longer provide this any more. We are forced to buy expensive dock stations on top of pricey laptops.

I quite like this slim drive, but only after a couple years it now has a lagging/pixellated effect on the left side of the screen when watching a movie.
I wanted to order another one but the price has gone up $40!!!! in 2 years. I purchased it for $29.99 end of 2021, and it now sells for $59.99, which is ridiculous!
This inflation insanity needs to end.

The price was right, delivery was speedy and it appears to be working fine. Know that when you install a CD/DVD disc, you'll need to press it down firmly onto the base.

Awful. What even is this?!

This did not work at all. I plugged it in, some suspicious Graphics showed up that looked like something out of the early 90s, and it would not play a single dvd. All I got was the message that I had to lower my screen resolution because it wasn't supported. What? So I tried that, lowering it to ridiculous degrees, and nothing happened. The cheap Graphics also froze a few times. I don't know what this is, but it's not a dell, and I'm pretty angry and disappointed and feel ripped off by the seller. It was a refurbished model, by the way.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

HP laptop internal DVD clicking and no longer registering (removed after Dell was tested OK).
The Dell was a charm to run up on not-up-to-date W10, using a USB 3 port.
It wrote DVD+RW right away, showing up in Device Manager.
For some reason, did not immediately show up on the BIOS boot options, but after one restart (or two?) it did appear with its proper name (as on the box) DW-316.
Little green flashing light...
Tray needs to be pulled out a little further and still one can't just drop the whole disc in, but that's better than if the tray would fall out...
