[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for my mom as a gift for Mother's Day. So far it's working great. It boils water very fast and looks cute on the kitchen counter (I got the red one). It's easy to operate with a simple push of the button. My mom likes it a lot. My only complaint is the electrical cord is too short. A few inches longer would be perfect. If you look for a simple electric kettle without all the unnecessary extra features, that's the one to go to.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very pretty... does it brew tea?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have just bought this electric kettle (in brushed stainless steel) and I confess I chose it for the design. I love it. Works well too, so far. Since it's so cute... I was wondering whether I could use it for actually steeping loose tea, after the water boils, and serve too. Is this a no-no? Is this going to affect the kettle or make the cleaning difficult? I would appreciate any advice in this regard, thanks!

Is plastic inside the pot BPA free or not?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just purchased the KEK1222 electric kettle. I haven't even tried it yet. Love the style and that it is mostly stainless steel. I'm still searching on line to find the answer many have asked re: whether the plastic filter frame and housing inside the pot is BPA free or not? Why can't someone from KitchenAid just be up front and directly answer the question? This a concern that numerous people have brought up in their reviews. If it's not BPA free is KitchenAid addressing this? Otherwise, it's a great little kettle.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Used to love it for all of 2 months

Thought it was kinda spendy for an electric tea kettle, but my last tea kettle had findly given out after 5 years of faithful daily service. I like the way it looked, so bought it. And it has worked great until today. It has just stopped heating up. It gets luke warm, but not hot like it should.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

BPA free or not?

Odor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The water boils quickly, however the kettle gives it an unpleasant odor which I have not been able to eradicate. I have used only only about a dozen of times, and washed it innumerably. The odor remains unchaned.
