This worked for eight months before stopping. This isn't the first Phillips portable DVD player I have bought and had that happen, but my wife likes these units. That said, this time I bought a 2 year warranty. Will see how that works out - betting it doesn't. Merica.
Pros: didn't burn down the house.
Cons: doesn't work.

All of a sudden just stopped working

Bought this player in December 2015 for a trip from VA to FL and to use only in the car. Have taken two trips with it and all of a sudden in March 2016 it says "No Disc" whenever a DVD is inserted. I have cleaned the sensors and the DVD player. Still isn't working. Pretty disappointing that it only lasted three months. It was great when worked.

My in-laws purchased this product for my 2 year old son to keep him busy during our long drive from AZ to NY. For the first 5 months, the DVD player was great. Now, you have to constantly recharge it and does not play as long as it should. It will show you the battery icon showing it is nowhere near dying, yet it just quits working and you have to recharge it. This gets old very fast. You would think a product like this would last a little longer than six months.
This is a great DVD player. I looked at quite a few and read reviews before deciding on this one. I love that it's small and compact and can sit in you're lap! The picture quality is excellent and sound is perfect! It charges quick and easy to use buttons. This can easily fit in a purse or bag to go. Easy to store because it's very compact! I would recommend for anyone looking for a portable DVDs player to get this one. I'm soo glad I did and am very happy with it!
Pros: easy to use, great picture quality, great sound, charges quickly, video leaves off where you left, portable and compact to travel anywhere
So far, it has perform my needs, and overall when I leave home on a trip, that's the 1st thing I pack...
I would recommend this to a friend!

I got this DVD player after the dual portable ones that go on the head rests we had (another brand) died in less than 9 months!! O_O And this little beauty is AWESOME!! My 2 yr old loves it and it holds the charge for every BIT of 2 hrs maybe about 2.5. We just did an 8 hr road trip to ATL and she was very entertained. It comes with BOTH the car and wall charger. There are other features to it we haven't used like MP3 and pics. Haven't used them yet, but so far we love it!
Pros: awesome battery life, great picture quality, very stable picture even when moving (doesn't skp)
Cons: none for my uses! lol
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought one of these 7 years ago (2009) for 99$. It's been used heavily by three kids, has traveled an awful lot, and has obviously been tossed about in cars and elsewhere. The battery ceased to be able to play an entire film maybe 4 years ago, but continued to work when plugged in. You now have to reload the film a few times before it catches on, that has been getting worse over the past years, and there's something with the codecs or whatever that means the latest films don't play. I am now buying it again. That's a serious endorsement for an 7-years old piece of portable electronics.
