As an avid cook, this oven has made my time in the kitchen a pure pleasure. Accurate temperature settings, plenty of cooking surfaces, and we LOVE the griddle feature. Only drawback is the location of the controls can cause a inadvertent change in setting. Will be using the lockout feature.
Was hesitant to buy this because of the cost, but it was the only slide in range that would fit into the counter cut out. I am very glad I did. I love all the features and the performance of this oven.
I just had this range installed yesterday. I purchased this range because I have cooked on it at my daughters home and loved it, especially the warming/baking drawer. I was lucky to get it installed before Easter, can't wait to start cooking for 20 guests.
There is a lot to like in this well-designed range. We wanted dual fuel, two ovens, and controls in the front. There isn't a lot to choose from with all three of these required features. This dual fuel range has 5 burners of varying temperature ranges and a bottom drawer that is an actual oven, not just a warmer. We're not sure how practical the center long burner is yet, but in the 3 months we have had it, the bottom oven drawer has already become a favorite feature, much better and more useful than expected. And because there is no back panel with controls, the area on the range top for cookware is very large, even on this standard size range. The main oven is very large and accurate. There are some quiet sounds that come from the oven unit (a fan, for example, during preheating), but it's nothing that's noticeable once you get used to it. Actually, it's sort of reassuring to hear something going on in there instead of so sound whatsoever, if that makes any sense. The touch pad oven controls are sensitive to a light touch, which is great, but we have accidentally turned a control on or off when reaching for a high cabinet more than once just by brushing against it. It would be nice if the controls were back-lit, but that's a small nit for this otherwise great - and great-looking - range.
Overall satisfied with purchase. Negatives; oven fan is loud and runs constant, oven only average and wish the oven racks were better quality, wish GE would make it so tech could adjust inner burner on the dual front burner. It runs to high and can't really simmer or use for melting chocolates. Price point little high. No problems with stove.
We love the range itself. However there is some poor design on the location of the plug on the back. There is a protective metal cover over the electrical in the back in the center of the range. We needed to move our electrical outlet to allow us to have the range slide all the way in (it was hitting this cover while sticking 2 inches out yet). This metal cover should not stick out in the lower area (bottom 12 inches)so you don't have issues of where the plug outlet is located. That should be easy to adjust in the product design.
I bought this when we remodeled our kitchen. I wanted a gas cooktop and a double electric oven (for those times when I made or big family meal or entertain). After much research this was my choice and I couldn't be happier! After 40 years, I finally have the perfect appliance.
