I hate this thing

Epson sent me this thing because my Workforce Pro WP-4540 started squirting yellow ink everywhere. Out of the box, it failed to detect the yellow ink cartridge at startup (what is it with Epson and yellow ink?!) Then it paper jammed countless times in a row. Then the first printout had black stripes all the way down the back. As a bonus, my old 676XL print cartridges from the previous printer are identical in every way--but don't fit in this thing because of an extraneous notch. Thanks, Epson!
On the plus side, the new touch screen is pretty responsive. If only it was attached to a decent piece of hardware.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great machine

I have had other brands of printers in the past, but this Epson 4640is amazing. Output is smooth and nearly silent, even in regular mode.

Excellent ink jet printer -- best imaginable!

Extremely reliable, robust, fast, intelligent, high-capacity, large ink cartridges (which are EASY to remove and re-install), and overall an extremely highly professional piece of equipment.
I strongly recommend purchase of this device for medium to heavy use -- or simply to make your life easy by not having to deal with frequent ink jet cartridge changes... these last a LONG time, even in an office environment, with lots of folks printing a lot of material.
Simply the best ink jet printer I've ever seen. Or imagined.
Removing and re-installing the ink cartridges is easier than inserting a VHS tape, more like a cassette tape install, except much easier. Push to remove. Push to install. No tricks.
Beautiful job. Excellent device, Epson!

Great printer

I love my printer. It works well and has very minimal issues. The only issue it has it once in a while it has to be rebooted to remember that it is connected to the internet. I love that it has a place for photo paper, plain paper, and another tray for something else. The photos are wonderful and the general printing is great.

was easy to set up and have not had a single problem from day 1. Also, the ink cartridges seems to last quite a bit longer than the last Epson that i had. Very satisfied with my purchase.

Great Ink-Jet

While I personally prefer laser printers I have found the WF-4640 to be a great little printer for the money. The OEM ink IS expensive but thankfully there are good quality non-OEM inks available through the internet.
I would recommend this to a friend!
