As you know, I do not refill all 3 of the cartridges at the same time. Try to keep a few spares on hand when I do run out of one or the other.

When opening the black cartridge from package, ink leaked all over and spilled on my carpet. Bad seal on cartridge. Was a mess to clean up and disappointing.

The first recommendation is to handle cartridges carefully, especially is removing the tape or lever. Second, please return the cartridge to HP. Funny thing, I ordered a new Black 564XL cartridge and, one day after inserting it, the printer suffered a major paper jam. I couldn't fix it, so I bought another HP printer. I'm out the cost of the new ink, but life happens. I now have four brand-new 564XL cartridges (Black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow) and don't know what to do with them.
