The HP 3520 used three for four times a week for about a year developed a clogged ink head problem.after I had bought a black double cartridge and the three color cartridge. Apparently the cost of fixing the ink head exceeds the value of the machine. Very disappointed with the built in obsolescence
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi,
I'm sorry that this happened to you, but it probably didn't have anything to do with the cartridges. Also, it is very unlikely that you need to pay to fix this.
Your printhead needs to be cleaned. Your printer should have an automatic routine to do that. Check the user guide, if you don't know how to start the cleaning.
If that helps, the printer might have been turned off using a power strip or switch. You should always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That will let the printer 'park' itself so that the printhead is protected from excess drying. That can cause clogs to form in the tiny nozzles that spray the ink onto the paper.
I pulled the label marked PULL but all the plastic wrapping did not come off. I had to use a scissors to cut thru it. In doing so, the label on the top, which I believe should stay there, became unglued. Beyond that, installation and alignment went well.
